The ‘What’s The Truth About You’ workshop series is kicking off this afternoon.

As usual I haven’t done any preparation: I never do. I like my life, I like my teaching fluid. Freezing it would be to ignore guidance, stop growing, and start becoming a sculpture on a pedestal.

The Pleasure Principle and winning in life

Psychology, as a science and as a practice has some tools: Observation and brain scans.

But the problem with either is that the human element, the interpreter between what is being seen, their mindset, their attitude, their approach, is crucial.

But, of course, this is true everywhere, except with psychologists, we expect them to interpret what they observe accurately… except they don’t. As a rule.

The Chess Master OR how can a smart person be so stupid?

…or what is the secret ingredient in The Machine that a chess master has or doesn’t…

I have been observing, for no reason, chess masters. Haven seen movies, read books, watched videos… for no reason… other than to allow consciousness to see.

WTF, right?

It is normal to do things for a reason. For fun. For research, For learning. But to take consciousness, like a baby, to the zoo? Who has ever heard anything like that before?

The path to the life you want to live is distinctions.

I know, I know, I am riding this distinction horse… and no one is getting on it with me.

But, don’t you think that you resisting it, or your genes resisting it… it is kind of telling?

Telling of what, Sophie?

That getting the distinction of distinction… looking at life through distinctions makes you as close to being a master of life as any human can ever get!? And that you are living in the “no mastery” zone… waiting for a miracle?

I have never done anything as smart as deciding to use the 67 step program as the structure inside which I coach people.

Why? Because Tai is doing the hard work. Every video works on one or two distinctions. If you get it as distinction: your life will start to move. If you get it as example… your life will remain stuck.

You are run by a machine. The machine is put together of genes, and each gene wants its own survival.

The title could be said differently as well: You are a survival machine. You are put together for the survival of your genes. (Richard Dawkins: the selfish gene theory). You have hundreds, maybe thousands of genes. Each gene is a code, and the genes are strung together on your DNA. Some genes are recessive, or dormant, but can be turned on by your behavior, by your thinking, or by an energy person, like me. ¹

These genes put together, each concerned only about its own survival is your DNA, and we could say that the machine is what we call the ego. Of course it is not a good way to put it, but at least you are cursorily familiar with the phenomenon of ego.

Ego wants to survive the genes.
And it deals with what it needs to deal with to be successful at it.

The mind interferes with the machine, culture interferes with the machine, religion interferes with the machine. All your misery comes from this interference and how you choose to deal with it.

Dyslexia… the most successful people are dyslexic

I had an insight this morning. This article may be the most important article I have ever written. And 99.99% % of you will ignore it… even if you read it three times. And I bet, you won’t even bother to read the footnotes… Must be not important you say, and you are right… about everything.

The world belongs to the changeable. The flexible. The one that can adjust, and go with the punches. This is what’s been missing… or at the minimum, without this you can’t change.

You know, if you know me that I have been harping on the color exercise. Simple exercise, everyone gets it right in minutes… except.

What people are not getting is this: It is training. Like wax on wax of in Karate kid. Doesn’t have anything to do with colors.

You know by now that I am dyslexic… very dyslexic.

Evolution, upsetting the apple cart or staying the same

Evolution, or upsetting the apple cart. Do we have the strength in the face of ego, and society demanding that we stay the same?

Upsetting the apple cart… the standing order of things. In your case: what you can and can’t do, have and feel. The misery, the pretense, the must, and the ought to… This is what today’s article is about.

Can you feel the ego squirming? Good… keep one eye on the ego… Please.

I have just started to read the first book Tai Lopez has on his 100 book recommended list.

This one is right up my alley, because it is about the genes and their role in the evolution.

If you imagine the DNA as a 300 page book, a gene is a few lines in it.

But those few lines make you behave differently than if you didn’t have them.

Each gene that is turned on makes you choose what you eat, how you walk, who you mate with, and what you read.

Children. All become stupid, ugly grown-ups

Although all models are wrong, some are useful. This model is useful.

Hijacking the conversation… inside and outside

When I owned the magazine I published for 10 years, I was looking to hire an assistant.

One of the test assignments I gave to the applicant is to sort the stuff in a junk drawer. I gave them no pointers… it was a big drawer, a lot of things to sort.

Every single applicant failed to find something relevant to sort by. I finally hired a girl who was nice, but useless…

Sorting is a life skill. Deciding on a relevant criteria to sort by is a life skill.

I learned life-skills in Landmark Education.

Previously I was like a nerd, an idiot savant.

One of the life-skill I learned is to be able to keep to what is relevant, to what belongs to the conversation.

In meetings at Landmark Education, they choose a “conversation manager”.

The two jobs of the conversation manager is to

keep people to say only what belongs to the conversation
to make sure that everything said forwards the conversation towards resolution.

I am always dumbfounded by people’s inability to see what belongs to a conversation.
