Cancer: The unintended consequence of positive thinking

Whoever thought that the well-meaning positive thinking will become a prison and a sentence to a ‘no joy life’ for most who become a ‘practitioner’ of it, about 80% of humanity at this time.

Whether you know it or not, your powers of comprehension depend on your powers of distinguishing. Continue reading “Cancer: The unintended consequence of positive thinking”

Choiceless freedom? Choiceless choice? Choiceless Awareness? Is Osho right about that?

I am reading Osho, specifically his collection of talks on freedom.

He didn’t actually write any of his books, they are collections of his spontaneous daily talks in his ashrams to his devotees, answering questions.

One of the most intriguing concepts is this:

You want freedom. Freedom of choice.

And you find out that once you have chosen, anything, the scope of freedom gets reduced, diminished.

He suggests this experiment:

Stand up. Now raise one of your feet and stand on the other leg.
Now lift the other leg…

You can’t, can you?

This is how choice and freedom are connected.

Internal and external barriers to growth, changing, success, the good life

is it worth my time, given what I am up to?Is that a distraction? Does that get me closer to my target?

One of the big issue I see with people is this:

You have big desires… but you don’t consider doing the things you have to do to attain them worth your while.

Catch 22.

Your desire for comfort and doing nothing conflicts with your desire for what you say you desire.

Something has to give.

Another role of negative emotions is…

I talked about negative emotions as early warning signals.

But negative emotions have another function: they are placeholders, reminders of unfinished business.

We go through life, and sustain injuries to our bodies, our self-esteem, our pride.

All or us. And then we attempt to continue life, but the wounds are there, festering.

I watched Charlie Chaplin accepting his life achievement Oscar in 1972? 1

His feelings as he is standing there during the 10 minute standing ovation, belies the grief, anger, disappointment, feeling slighted, thrown out, devastated 20 years earlier, when the United States unceremoniously threw him out…

I can relate… lol.

Your machine: Cycles, patterns, spiritual path

flowers for algernon... loss is more painful than never having itYour machine: Cycles, patterns, spiritual path: Life is a circle of repeating changes, rising and falling like the seasons.

Although all models are wrong, some are useful. This model is useful.

Robert Fritz, author of the book, The Path of Least Resistance, can offer a lot of information on the topic.

Fritz’s oscillating structures is a model and it is useful. Continue reading “Your machine: Cycles, patterns, spiritual path”

The dynamics of getting stuck… Or why isn’t my life getting any better, in spite of all the things I do?

mutually exclusive outcomesWhy and how you got stuck?
  • When you see that acting would make a positive difference, but you don’t act.
  • When you see that if you did what you said you would do, you could… but you don’t do it.
  • When you see that staying angry or right will cost you everything you ever wanted… but being angry or being right is soooo justified…!

What is it that counters you taking that action, when you don’t do what you see would be a good move?
What is winning when you are obviously losing?

Obviously, as always, the answer to those questions is under the hood.

Obviously, because above the hood you are losing. But under the hood, something or someone is winning…
