Birthday musings… are you ready to come out and play?

Birthday musings… are you ready to come out and play?

It’s my birthday today, and I guess, I should be doing something other than work… but I love working, so I am going to do as much of it today as i can.

What is great about having all this Social Media is that people are reminded that I have a birthday, so people come out of the woodwork.

But people do it in their inimitable way.

Self-expression… or maybe self-expression?

Some act as if they were the one stirring the soup of the Universe, and therefore had the right to tell me how to be, who to be… I have removed them from my mailing list. Unless I hired you to be my coach, your coaching is not welcome.

Yet others, who are stingy… your stinginess is expressed in everything you do and say. Especially in the “you are welcome” part… That “you are welcome” shows that they think more than 90% of the time about themselves… and nothing else. If your life isn’t working as well as you think it should…

If your life isn’t working as well as you think it should…

Thinking that your social status, your finances are a reflection of your value is a myth that can render you, your status, your finances low, if you are not born privileged.

I just read an article about the myth of meritocracy and how it hurts kids of color, in The Atlantic, and I found an answer to my question: why my Black students don’t do as well in life as one would expect of them, based on their abilities. Or women. Or other minorities… Or just regular people brought up mainly by women. 1

This post will get at this issue from different vantage points, so hold onto your hat… or you’ll lose it.

You may remember the principle that made T. Harv Eker a millionaire?

If things are not going well, it is a sign that something you don’t know.

Now, what he doesn’t say is that the thing that you don’t see is profound. It is a principle. Or a distinction. Something big. Continue reading “If your life isn’t working as well as you think it should…”

Self-expression: what is the Self you are expressing?

Self-expression: what is the Self you are expressing?

what is the self?People throw around the words: self-expression, but what is the self? I have never found a person who knows what it means… and if it means what THEY mean.

Most people look how you express yourself not what it is you express…

Meaning: I am letting my hair down… I am loud and obnoxious, I am funny, I am demanding… these are all how expressions.

This article is about “what” not “how”…

What is the Self you express with everything… your life, your job, your relationships, with your music, poetry, and your life.

There are two selves, and the reason life doesn’t work for most of us is because the two selves are not connected in any way.

  • Self 1: your genes, your desire to survive and procreate.
  • Self 2: your human desire to be higher than just your genes… to live your higher self.

Self in the expression of the higher self, is the evolved self. The self Shakespeare means: To thine own self be true.

Are you disappointed with yourself for not being higher minded, and achieving more in life?

Are you disappointed with yourself for not being higher minded, and achieving more in life?

be an empty spotFor years I’ve seen that humans, humanity, are stuck in a place where happiness is impossible, accomplishment is not predictable, and health is touch and go.

I’ve had big hopes, selfish hopes, that I will be the one to unstuck you.

Lots of other people have this hope… and the hopes remain hopes, because you have a vested interest to keep what keeps you stuck in place? If we knew what keeps you stuck, maybe we could unstuck you.

This article is an attempt to identify that one thing. The linchpin issue.

Is the fixed mindset a sign of courage deficiency? Can you turn on courage?

Is the fixed mindset a sign of courage deficiency? Can you turn on courage?
If you can’t measure it it doesn’t exist.

The world’s population is divided. A small part tries to get results through effort, and the large part is trying to sail on their innate abilities alone.

People in both parts have an ego. Ego is normal.

Ego can push you forward, or ego can hold you back.

This is exactly how it works in the two parts of the population.

  1. The people who want to live through effort, learning, challenges use their ego to push them forward.
  2. The other part… hell, they use their ego to get offended from criticism, to hide from challenges, and to make sure they maintain their self-image… whatever it may be.

Personality vs Self… what is same, what is different?

Personality vs Self… what is same, what is different?

your personality and social media choicesHow do you know if you don’t have a Self? And if you don’t… what is missing?

As with everything in life, things are never completely this way or that way. All physical laws are only 100% true in your imagination: in reality there are too many factors to consider.

It is a matter of spiritual and emotional maturity whether a person can be with controversy and ambivalence… or in this case degrees of anything.

What I am trying to say: there is no one who has no Self at all, and there is no one who is 100% in possession of their Self.

There is a huge variety, and a huge variety of ways one isn’t willing to have a Self.

Why do I say “willing”? Isn’t it the goal to have a Self?

It is and it isn’t. We all have a personality of some sort… and most of us are satisfied with that.

Hemp kernels… the perfect food that’s also tasty

Hemp kernels… the perfect food that’s also tasty

I don’t remember why I first bought hemp seeds but I did… and ate a tablespoonful here and there. Last September, I think…

It made no noticeable difference. I guess the hulled seeds and little bits of hull staying in the mix didn’t make it that appetizing. Had to brush my teeth after it… the kernels stuck to my teeth.

But when about a month ago I found out that coffee was going to kill me, lol, I was looking for something that could help. I wanted to go back to drinking tea, but I can’t drink tea without milk. And tea without milk also tests too acidic for me. That was also the problem with coffee. I have a sensitive stomach and a damaged esophagus.

So I looked for information on how to make almond milk at home, and found out that hulled hemp seeds made great hemp milk… Tested it and lo and behold, they do. Much smoother and richer than almonds.

And because I am a tea addict, I am drinking a godawful lot of hemp milk with my tea… and I am getting better. Healthier. Stronger. Younger looking. My wrinkles are smoothing out, which I didn’t much care about, but others do. Continue reading “Hemp kernels… the perfect food that’s also tasty”

The ground of your being comes from where you live

The ground of your being comes from where you live

life on the 14th floor: words and more wordsWhen you live on the 14th-15th floors of your being, the ground of your being comes from there too.

Let’s first look what is the ground of your being, the floor on which everything is built that is compatible with that floor.

On the 13th floor the ruler is Life. Nature. The Universe. No interpretation. Life, nature, the universe gives you your actions, your attitudes, your interpretation of events.

Virtues live on the 13th floor, because virtues are a Yes to life. Anything gets evaluated by that question: is it a Yes to life or a no to life.

Is it part of the flow, or is it a blockage to the flow. Blockages need to go. Attitudes, needs, wants, habits, activities that are a no to life, that don’t fit the flow of life, Nature, the Universe, must go, because it is evil. Against life. Is happiness even possible? Is self-hate, self-punishing a good path to it?

Is happiness even possible? Is self-hate, self-punishing a good path to it?

It’s Tuesday, and my Rob Brezsny horoscope arrived this morning.

It addressed something I wanted to address, because it is important: treating yourself well by providing yourself with what you need to be well, to do well, to feel well.

You treat your pets better than yourself.

If you were only judgmental and stingy with others, that would be one thing. But you are stingy with yourself.

You judge yourself harshly, you treat yourself badly, and you skimp on yourself first.

Consider yourself your own child, or your own pet? And your relationship, your treatment of it public.

A lot of people, in private, abuse with impunity, but would not dare do the same in public, or when someone can see it. They fear judgment. Continue reading “Is happiness even possible? Is self-hate, self-punishing a good path to it?”

The ability to be in awe. how will it matter for your life?

The ability to be in awe. how will it matter for your life?

aweSometimes it is the people no one can imagine anything of who do the things no one can imagine~Alan Turing

I watched yet another movie about Alan Turing and how his machine won the war against Nazi Germany.

I would not be around without him. My parents, my race would have perished. And you would live a totally different life… The book (and the Amazon series) The Man in the High Castle approximates…

I am in awe. With what he did, with who he was, with genius winning, with goodness winning.
