break out of the life the selfish gene allows you to live?

god-manHow does mind serve the ego, and ego serves the selfish gene… Evolutionary view of ‘team you’

Tuesdays are my days to interface with people who are neither my readers, nor my clients.

Ordinary people. And although it is very frustrating to me, and maybe even them, I learn a lot from these unpleasant interactions.

Ever since I read The Selfish Gene, a book, and even more since I read the book ‘Why beautiful people have daughters’ a look on life through evolutionary psychology, I am trying to match what I read with what I see, hear, and feel.

More, better, different… the wide world of what doesn’t make a difference

quote_slowWhen you ask the question why you are reading my articles, your answer will be saying what you want.

More, better, different.

You may say: you want to raise your vibration, so you can have more, better, or different. What…

You may be prepared to do different, maybe even more, but you surely aren’t thinking that it is NOT what you do, it is how you do it.

When I talk about beingness… you think it’s a what. But it’s a how.

When I say “love,” you hear “what”. but I mean “how”. When I say generous, you hear “ugh, I have to give” which is a what, while generous is a how.

Power… What it is and how you leak it down to next to nothing…

argueI am watching Person of Interest for the second time on Netflix. I argue, I get angry, hateful, steaming… I criticize, a am sad, depressed, in total reaction mode.

I am watching the “bad guy” calm, collected, emotionless, calculated, for years working patiently and methodically towards the success of the Dark Side.

Hm, the good side is losing, and the dark side us unstoppable.

And then I see it.

I was looking at trust, the intangible capacity to trust… and its role in becoming a winner

no trust - no winningIn the past four months that I have been able to turn on individual capacities for people, I have received no request to turn on trust.

Why is that?

After all people, rightly, asked me for self-trust. But self-trust won’t be enough.

So what can be the current worldview with regards to trust, that trust doesn’t come up as number one to turn on.

Because, whether you know it or not, without trust there is no winning. Without trust there is no flow. Without trust there is no fulfillment.

When I measured some winners in life, for whom it took years to hone their skills with which they won, money, recognition, admiration… trust was there, fully open.

As you probably already know, I use playing Freecell as my laboratory. It is much the way Richard Dawkins, The Selfish Gene author used the computer simulation “Prisoner’s Dilemma”… very enlightening for me.

So, what I saw today, and it’s only 6:45 am, lol, that without trust you can only play for keeps, or without trust you can’t open your eyes wide, and take steps that will only pay off 20-30 steps down the line. You are run by a machine. The machine is put together of genes, and each gene wants its own survival.

survival of the one that can changeThe title could be said differently as well: You are a survival machine. You are put together for the survival of your genes. (Richard Dawkins: the selfish gene theory). You have hundreds, maybe thousands of genes. Each gene is a code, and the genes are strung together on your DNA. Some genes are recessive, or dormant, but can be turned on by your behavior, by your thinking, or by an energy person, like me. 1

These genes put together, each concerned only about its own survival is your DNA, and we could say that the machine is what we call the ego. Of course it is not a good way to put it, but at least you are cursorily familiar with the phenomenon of ego.

Ego wants to survive the genes.
And it deals with what it needs to deal with to be successful at it.

The mind interferes with the machine, culture interferes with the machine, religion interferes with the machine. All your misery comes from this interference and how you choose to deal with it.

What does humility mean?

inhale the good shit-exhale the bullshitWhy am I pushing humility, the capacity?

Humility is one of those words that mainstream says it means something other than it actually means.

Humility simply means: you are willing to not take it personally. You are willing to not have it mean anything about you.

Why is this important?

When anything, and I mean any thing means anything about you, you are hooked. Your ego is hooked. It becomes a survival game… and in survival it is an either you or me game.

So, simply put humility means putting ego on pause.

Your cultural predicament to feel powerless

Another issue that has been driven up by the “Gate of Heaven” workshop is this:

In certain cultures women are told they are inferior. They are supposed to be pretty, but not smart. They are property: they are treated as property.

Women resent this. So revolt is normal and necessary. Continue reading “Your cultural predicament to feel powerless”

Do you feel that no one listens, and your contribution is not valued? This solves that…

not-ListenI found this article in my inbox. I think it is perfect for what I teach… So let’s see how it applies… The article is about hypnosis secrets: a way to manipulate others through hypnotic language… I don’t recommend it. The more you use it the less integrity you’ll have.

On the other hand, there is a non-manipulative way you can produce the same results, if what you have to say is good… If what you have to say is crap… even g-o-d can’t help you.

OK, here is the article… I drive it home at the end.

Take this test:

Count up all the people you spoke to (or emailed or messaged) over the last week.

The people at work.

At home.

And the people you spoke to as you went about your day.

You probably won’t be able to remember the exact number.

That’s okay – just guess.

Let’s say it was 20 people.

Now, here’s something to digest:

The responses you got from those 20 people (or however many it was) determined the options and opportunities available to you from last week forward.

If 18 out of those 20 people shot down your ideas or ignored your requests — your options and opportunities will be…

SEVERELY RESTRICTED!

However:

Swim or sink… do or die

to be in a sink or swim situation, you first need to jumpinto the waterThis morning my main computer quietly died.

Times like this are the real tests whether the capacities are working or not.

Suddenly I had no access to anything that is on that computer, not the data, not the software, and I had a few choices: go crazy, go out of business, or bring resiliency, aka mental toughness to carry the day.

It’s Tuesday, and a few minutes after the death of my trusty computer, I went downstairs and to my weekly outing to the chiropractor and to the grocery store.

These excursions, the conversations with Sarah, the woman who drives me, and my chiropractor, could have been opportunities for complaining, and although I shared it with both, and both offered their help, I said thank you, and continued with the day like nothing happened.

I managed not to drag the issue to areas where it didn’t belong.

One step of the what’s missing workshop is sobering. As in a horrible wake up call…

probable-almost-certain-future

While writing this article, unexpectedly, I managed to break through a self-imposed barrier I have had… It’s unexpected… Bear with me till the end, please…

In this step of the What’s Missing workshop, the participants’ task is to look at an area of life that isn’t working as well as it could… and look how it will look in 5-10 years if nothing changes.

Rule is: You won’t change your actions… or how you do your actions. You won’t change your attitude…

Result 5-10 years later: homeless, fired, alone, dead, in jail…

These are just examples. Some results are worse than this. Unfulfilled is the worst…

Turns out that the saying, the observation that ‘how you do anything is how you do everything’ finds its roots in this exercise.
