Just ask “What is it I don’t know? What is it I don’t see?”

Just ask “What is it I don’t know? What is it I don’t see?”

You can follow me down the rabbit hole. You can do it… The only question is: will you think it worth your while?

I know I have said it before, lots of times, but I will say it again, but slightly differently this time. So bear with me: the reward will be unbelievable!

When something isn’t working, there is something you don’t know.

Said in another way:

When something isn’t working (the way you expected it to work), you can be sure that there is something you don’t know or can’t see.

Unfortunately to you, when you hear this sentence, you will never think about your mindset. You’ll never think that your thinking is wrong. That your life philosophy is wrong. Continue reading “Just ask “What is it I don’t know? What is it I don’t see?””

I started to read my one non-fiction book of the quarter.

I started to read my one non-fiction book of the quarter.

This morning I started to read my one non-fiction book for the quarter. John Carlton’s The Entrepreneur’s Guide To Getting Your Shit Together

I wish I have read it a decade or two ago. It would have made a huge difference.

It brought to light a ‘delusional’ worldview I have, where I expect people to do what I would do.

I’d never realized, and I am in shock. I am mortified, and it is, sometimes, too late, even though it’s not over till the fat lady sings. But I think it may be too late for me, but it is not too late for you.

So I am sharing it, even though I look bad… I am OK with that. Continue reading “I started to read my one non-fiction book of the quarter.”

It takes energy to go to the next level, to be happy.

It takes energy to go to the next level, to be happy.

avalanche... great power! It takes energy to go to the next level. It takes energy to be happy.

Where are you leaking energy? Reclaim your energy

I am reading a book by one of my absolute favorite writers, Colin Wilson.

This is the first non-fiction book I read in a month. I have put myself on a Tree-of-Knowledge withdrawal fast. I am breaking the fast with his book. The title is ‘Super Consciousness: In Quest for the Peak ExperienceContinue reading “It takes energy to go to the next level, to be happy.”

How to go from passenger to the driver of your life?

How to go from passenger to the driver of your life?

The secret is SEEING.

Seeing is a metaskill, says the visual artist.

He probably meant a skill that takes you to the next century. Because it is undeniable that as the world changes, the skillset that makes people make a living even now is not enough to make a living in the future…

Meta, the word, means a go-between. Like a bridge. Going between one and another piece… Like the gap between two things.

And maybe I am twisting words, but unless you have that bridge between how it is, and how you envision it, there is no path.

When I look at the people I have trained, I have consulted, I have had conversations with, the most obvious missing skill was this bridge: seeing it, building it, walking it. Continue reading “How to go from passenger to the driver of your life?”

One of the undistinguished urges is ‘cheap closure now’.

One of the undistinguished urges is ‘cheap closure now’.

One of the undistinguished urges is ‘cheap closure now’.

When you are looking for something through a filter, you’ll see nothing else, but what the filter allows you to see.

Your filter is most likely your worldview…

When you see a problem, you immediately look for a solution… it is human nature to do that. But the nature of reality is that every solution comes with a cost. And often the cost is a bigger problem that will plague humanity with huge problems.

One of the worldviews that will match this urge, cheap closure now, is the worldview that says: ‘It’s not worth it’. Continue reading “One of the undistinguished urges is ‘cheap closure now’.”

The curse of being clever… Painting yourself into a corner

The curse of being clever… Painting yourself into a corner

capacity capabilityAs I have said before: I play Freecell, a solitaire, to take me below the visible… all the time.

This morning I did a clever move… a few minutes later I saw that the clever move in fact painted me in a corner.

And that is, surprisingly, true about cleverness. At least if you use the word correctly… a rare phenomenon really… using words correctly. Continue reading “The curse of being clever… Painting yourself into a corner”

Crying: what does it do for you? Expect the unexpected…

When you cry and the crying/sobbing has no content. When you don’t know why you are crying, then something deep is clearing out.

But when you know why you are crying, then some past, some meaning, some opinion gets confirmed and your ego will continue giving you ‘reason’ to cry. Continue reading “Crying: what does it do for you? Expect the unexpected…”

What can a one-track pony teach you? Teach me…

I have been, I am just noticing, making myself miserable.

What got me out of that direction down to desperation, ultimately, a Carlos Castaneda 1 quote:

The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same

Long winter may be the secret of high achievers

dante infernoThis article is about using guidance, but not for its truth value, but in spite of its truth value. 2

Tai’s 67 steps program coupled with my coaching is the perfect growth program.

It’s not because of me, it is not because of the steps either but because of its structural essence.

To the degree that you are curious that you have a Self

To the degree that you are curious that you have a Self

peek-arent-you-curiousCuriosity

Remember when I told you, in an earlier article, that the opposite of fear is curiosity?

Curiosity is that, and more. 3

I have found that curiosity is the main component in aliveness… so it is also the opposite of dead, deadened, alienated, dull, and foggy.

It is also the main sparker of intelligence.

We are all born curious. Most of us kill our curiosity. Curiosity, what I call curiosity, is open ended.

Finding THE answer to a question is not the curiosity I am talking about.

Thinking that you need answers is the number one killer of curiosity, of aliveness, of intelligence.

Our parents, teachers, like us not curious, not intelligent, so they kill our curiosity.

At least seemingly.

You have the spark… buried, covered up with deadness, but it is there.
