Turning Points Part 2: commit to living life at life’s terms

Turning Points Part 2: commit to living life at life’s terms
turning point Turning Points Part 2

In the movie, The Piano, there seem to be several turning points. The main character (Helen Hunt) is married off to New Zealand. There she falls in love with a laborer, employee of her husband. Seeming turning points.

Why are these not real turning points?

We will only be dealing with created, conscious, turning points, not when life changes or we change, but it’s not conscious. These are moments when we are unusually strongly connected to Life, and thus can cause our lives to turn instead of continuing down the same unproductive path. Turning Points: how to create them in your life? Part 1

Turning Points: how to create them in your life? Part 1
Turning Points

In this article I am going to illustrate ways to create a turning point in your life. I will highlight the words ‘turning point‘ so you won’t miss any. If you can learn to use at least one method, your life will never be the same. I guarantee it.

In my conversations with people, what I see, more than anything, is that they don’t know how to turn things around.

Although they don’t know, the pivot point of any turn needs to be their soul correction. Everything else is just change.

I am writing and re-writing the soul correction articles, and I will do this until I find a way to get through to you.

Why do some people make millions, but not you?

Why do some people make millions, but not you?

Why are some people happy, but not you?
Why are some people successful, but not you?

This article could create a turning point for you and your life… By using the method I teach here.

Realizing value is, maybe, the fundamental distinction that is missing.

What does it mean: realize the value of something.

Realize means: make it real. It is a real thing.

For example, a blueprint, the plans of a house have no value. Only when the house is built according to the blueprint does.

An idea has no value. An insight has no value, until it is realized.

How do you think of yourself less? your about-me score

How do you think of yourself less? your about-me score
How do you think of yourself less?

What does that mean? Thinking of others? By becoming a do-gooder?

OK, I am going to clarify something. Something that myself don’t quite know how it works, and why it works that way.

So it may come out incomprehensible, botched up, and useless. But, in my view, it is worth to try…

Note: if you only read one example, make it #5!

OK, the issue: one of the measurements is to what degree your life is about you and your life… the words I use I borrowed from someone else… True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less. and the words are ‘to what degree you think of yourself’… as a measure of humility i.e. how much room you have to learn and grow, how much room you have for the world, for work, for life… for others. Your life is like a boat. It is driven by the drift 99%

Your life is like a boat. It is driven by the drift 99%

Every learning is becoming. Every action that is aimed at learning but doesn’t lead to becoming… is not learning, it is just a pretense. Treading water. The drift.

But becoming is not easy, and it takes longer than you would expect. OK, longer than I expect. Longer than I have been expecting 🙁

Why? because some of the learning requires you to be right there, ready for that particular learning. You first need to become ready.

Commerce is king… and you are a peon, or maybe a rook.

Commerce is king… and you are a peon, or maybe a rook.

Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis handing out a sentence to an old bank robber
’30 years’
‘Your honor, I’m 75 years old, I don’t have 30 years to serve’
‘Then do the best you can’

This joke pretty accurately summarizes our lives.

The odds are not on our sides to live out our lives fully.

I could say ‘by design’, but that would not be accurate.

What the heck am I talking about? About the conflict between you and commerce… Continue reading “Commerce is king… and you are a peon, or maybe a rook.”

Why do you need humility to learn anything? Skills, habits

Why do you need humility to learn anything? Skills, habits

learning and humilityLearning is humbling. Especially humbling is learning about yourself, and learning about your need to change.

You have a Precious I. Whether you believe it or not, whether you know it or not, the precious I is in every single person.

And your precious I wants to have and retain the self-image unchanged, the self-image that says you know everything. That you are the center of the Universe. You are special. And it wants to keep the self-image where it is superior. Where you are, therefore, OK. Continue reading “Why do you need humility to learn anything? Skills, habits”

Respect: look again… but this time differently

Respect: look again… but this time differently

In the movie, Stranger Than Fiction, our hero is doing what he is doing, unconsciously.

When Harold Crick, the hero of the movie, starts hearing the narrating voice in his head…

…what the voice says takes him out of his unconsciousness and makes him conscious

…his usual way of doing things, going through life like a drone, and this changes his life.

There’s no ‘no’ in reality. ‘No’ can be masked.

There’s no ‘no’ in reality. ‘No’ can be masked.

Like saying it is missing. Like need. Like want. Like missing.

All those only exist in language.

The crucial distinction I teach is reality. Reality as opposed to the mind, the imagination, the meaning making machine.

Today I realized that inversion, the different thinking methodology is needed. because often what is there is what is the problem. I’ll explain.

Humanity is a piling upon piles hoarding type of species. A lot like squirrels. Continue reading “There’s no ‘no’ in reality. ‘No’ can be masked.”

What is the connection between respect and appreciation?

What is the connection between respect and appreciation?

What is the connection between respect and appreciation? Both respect and appreciation are spiritual capacities… states of being.

I am having a lot of insights lately. Of course, it was predictable: I am running an experimental workshop: it is driving up the questions.

When you have questions, relevant questions, you are going to get insights. You ask irrelevant questions? you’ll get no insights.

Anyway, the circumstance this morning was this: I accidentally double-paid for a course. Sent a support request to get a refund, and they answered that their policy was to talk to me, to make sure I was who I said I was. Continue reading “What is the connection between respect and appreciation?”
