Carrot or Stick? How to win at promises you make to yourself

Carrot or Stick? How to win at promises you make to yourself

new year resolutionsWe all know this, it is too common to think that you don’t have it.

You find yourself attracted to some kind of project. Maybe a new habit, or an exercise regimen.
It feels like a done deal: it is all yours. Done deal, it is in the bag… and then you wake up one morning, maybe as soon as next day, and all the inspiration is gone, and you are back to being pedestrian. Plus feelings, like shame, confusion, of puzzlement. Continue reading “Carrot or Stick? How to win at promises you make to yourself”

Entitlement is a worldview? Really? Not an attitude?

Entitlement is a worldview? Really? Not an attitude?

entitlementErnest Hemingway once wrote a story on a restaurant napkin In Key West, a story in six words.

For sale: baby shoes, never worn

He could have written about all humans, about my students… who are just like those baby shoes; unfulfilled dreams… unfulfilled potential.

I just finished my ‘Distinctions’ podcast call that today was all about entitlement.

The podcast is the recording of a weekly (Friday) conversation between a student of mine and myself.  I designed it to go deep in some areas of life, an invisible dynamic…

Entitlement is invisible in ourselves… Continue reading “Entitlement is a worldview? Really? Not an attitude?”

Hope, hopeful… are they useful or harmful? let’s look.

Hope, hopeful… are they useful or harmful? let’s look.

One of my students who, on the surface appears optimistic, enthusiastic, and unstoppable, saw yesterday that inventing herself hopeful could change her life.

Hopeful is not one of the ways of being that are considered, traditionally, healthy and high vibration.

Why? Because hopeful, the way people use it, is a mind thing… while beingness is not a mind thing at all.

When you are hopeful, the way people use it, you are waiting for a benevolent universe, or some angel, or some deity to give you what you want… So hopeful, as the way people use it is a passive mindset, which is low vibration. Inventing a new you, a YOU you can become

Inventing a new you, a YOU you can become
Seeing what is missing

You think it is other people, circumstances that define your life. What if it is you? WHO you are, that does all of it. In that case you would want to be able create yourself, change yourself to be someone who can have a great life… wouldn’t you?

It is the hardest thing to see that what is missing is not outside. That it is inside. It is the idea of a way of being missing…

The whole distinction of a way of being is missing. Continue reading “Inventing a new you, a YOU you can become”

Locked in/Locked out… scarcity thinking

Locked in/Locked out… scarcity thinking

One of the phenomenon I notice with people is that they do not have moves in communication. This comes from the binary way of viewing the world… either/or, one or the other, yes or no.

One area where this is detrimental to your well-being, to your success, to your energy, to your mood, is promises.

Requests and promises are actions. But they are not binary, even though the multitudes, and your mother and your boss, treat them as such.

When I request something of you, you think you are locked in to say either yes or no.

But your thinking is wrong… So what other choices do you have? Continue reading “Locked in/Locked out… scarcity thinking”

From a life of resignation to a life worth living

From a life of resignation to a life worth living
a life of desperationLet’s first analyze the title… instead of jumping right in… OK?

What is a life of resignation? What do you resign to?

I say, you resign to being an effect. To not being cause. And that hurts. Continue reading “From a life of resignation to a life worth living”

The difference between ‘is’ as myth, and ‘is’ as occurrence

The difference between ‘is’ as myth, and ‘is’ as occurrence

Let me first connect this article to the previous one. This article will not do what it is designed to do, cause transformation, unless you have the Sight capacity, at least the aspect where you can see BEYOND the words, active. So with that said, I offer this transformative article… let’s see how it lands.

I have said before, that is, I, and because are myths. Continue reading “The difference between ‘is’ as myth, and ‘is’ as occurrence”

The Sight capacity and its many uses. What is there to see?

The Sight capacity and its many uses. What is there to see?

The Sight, obviously, is about seeing.

And unless you are blind or visually impaired, you think you see.

But you are simplifying the issue.

The expression: you don’t know that you don’t know it should be re-written to be more accurate: you don’t see what you don’t see. Continue reading “The Sight capacity and its many uses. What is there to see?”

What makes hell hell? Is it a place? Or what?

What makes hell hell? Is it a place? Or what?

I read one or two threads on Reddit every morning.

This is how I stay in touch with what people think, what people say, what people find funny, what grieves them.

Today the discussion was what could convince an atheist to become a believer. What could change their mind?

This is right up my alley… That is all I have ever wanted to know: what would change your mind? Continue reading “What makes hell hell? Is it a place? Or what?”

The Core ‘Belief’ of Failure – a linchpin belief

The Core ‘Belief’ of Failure – a linchpin belief

First off: let’s establish something important: a belief is a string of words. Words. Ordinary words.

The words always lead to a picture… And that, the picture is what most people consider a belief… but the picture comes from the words. Continue reading “The Core ‘Belief’ of Failure – a linchpin belief”
