Case studies. Who will and who won’t grow and why?

Case studies. Who will and who won’t grow and why?

In this article I am going to point out the difference between students and clients who grew and those who won’t grow. Didn’t grow. Most likely will never grow.

The goal is so you can find yourself and if willing, change what there is to change about you, so you can change.

Here is the simple truth: what gives you being, doing, is what you see. Now, or in the future… for yourself.

So your main organ that initiates action that creates what you want is your eyes. Continue reading “Case studies. Who will and who won’t grow and why?”

How to change your view of life so you can change your life

How to change your view of life so you can change your life
What you see is what gives you your attitude and your actions in life.

So if we can change what you see, we can help you change your life.

I love the analogy of the winding mountain pass where an unsuspecting motorist happens onto a car wreck in the middle of the two-lane road.

His options are to

  1. drive into the solid rock on the left,
  2. into the abyss on the right,
  3. into the wreck in the middle… or to
  4. slow down and drive around the wreck. Slowly.

Got a monkey on your back? What monkey? Monkey!?

Got a monkey on your back? What monkey? Monkey!?

monkey-on-your-backYou say you don’t have a monkey on your back? If that were so, then you would be one in a billion:

We all have a monkey on our back… one monkey or more. It’s a humanity wide issue… more on that in another article

In this idiom the monkey is a problem that has been difficult to get rid of or to solve with the tools you have… with the mindset you have…  It definitely feels like an uncatchable ball.

The monkey is often invisible to you, and unless someone else looks for it observing you, or you accidentally stumble on it, that monkey is influencing you in everything in life. Continue reading “Got a monkey on your back? What monkey? Monkey!?”

Why I was interrogated by Israeli Intelligence

Why I was interrogated by Israeli Intelligence

Sometimes it takes reading a book to understand what happened 40 years prior.

Back in 1982 I was interrogated for eight hours by the Israeli whatever… intelligence? It was dinner time. I was freshly off El Al the Israeli airline asking to enter Israel. I kissed the ground and had tears in my eyes… for reasons I don’t know. And then… They ushered me into a small room where I was questioned… no water, no bathroom, no food… for eight hours by several different men. Learning and growing through simulation, like doctors

Learning and growing through simulation, like doctors

We all live in a little box, and it seems that we are stuck here forever.

Life would work best if it were like a Freecell game: you lost the game? so what?! Or if it were like a University: learning to become a surgeon or a nurse.

Future surgeons don’t learn, don’t practice on live patients… they practice on dummies or on cadavers… They would certainly cause some damage while they learn otherwise. Continue reading “Learning and growing through simulation, like doctors”

There is no suffering, never anything wrong in reality

There is no suffering, never anything wrong in reality
There is no suffering, there is never anything wrong in reality. All suffering, all wrong is brought on by words…

We live in an imaginary reality… with literally no capacity, no ability to tell fact from fiction.

Humans can’t see much of anything without labeling it… so humans live in the world tainted with words…

For the purposes of this conversation we will define reality as something even a just landed Martian can see, a Martian who isn’t complicit in all the meanings and narrative. Continue reading “There is no suffering, never anything wrong in reality”

One model for a satisfying life is the battery.

One model for a satisfying life is the battery.

cell-battery-rundownIf you suck the last little bit of energy out of your battery and then charge it, next day it will give you a little more…

This is not true for all types of batteries… but, it is true for most people…

If you suck the energy out of the battery sparingly, if you are more worried about the battery than about building something with its energy… at the end of the day energy is left in the battery. Continue reading “One model for a satisfying life is the battery.”

Your shadow and your spirit are at the same place

Your shadow and your spirit are at the same place

A whole new question is emerging.

Why do you do all the things you do to get better, or more, or different?

Are you doing it to fix something that you consider wrong? To compensate for it?

Or you are doing it to be liked? Well thought of? To belong? To become famous? Continue reading “Your shadow and your spirit are at the same place”

You Suck. And it sucks. But unless you are willing to…

You Suck. And it sucks. But unless you are willing to…

I wrote this email 12 years ago… It is a great reminder for me, and it is quite apropos for you. Even though you may not be in marketing, you may not have a sales letter… but you have me, and I could be your Big Kahuna… So here is the email:

You Suck

Some people get lucky.

Most people I know want to avoid a situation where they can look bad. I know I do.

These are the ones that stagnate.

Then some of those people get lucky and get a mentor who pushes them… pushes them to be more, do more, have more…

Sounds good, right? Let me tell you, it sucks. It sucks big time.

Are You stupid? Or are you just BEING stupid?

Are You stupid? Or are you just BEING stupid?

Summary: You may be stupid, you may be doing stupid and you may not know it. The biggest breakthrough for a stupid person is to declare that they are stupid. Why? Because it would force them to look before they label, act, talk, argue, say yes, or say no… Stupid is a state, not an ability…

So, what is the state of a stupid person? They think that they understand everything. They think that what they see is what’s there…

Koan: For you Everything is the same as everything else … except not always Continue reading “Are You stupid? Or are you just BEING stupid?”
