Tolstoy said: Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way
Aristotle said: success/failure: …it is possible to fail in many ways (for evil belongs to the class of the unlimited, as the Pythagoreans conjectured, and good to that of the limited), while to succeed is possible only in one way (for which reason also one is easy and the other difficult — to miss the mark easy, to hit it difficult); for these reasons also, then, excess and defect are characteristic of vice, and the mean of virtue;
good/bad: …For men are good in but one way, but bad in many.

Republished: The secret words that activate a dormant DNA

After your anchor-to-doom attachment is pulled… A whole new set of choices show up… Will you choose differently? All future depends on that.

As you know I use my own life as a kind of laboratory to test if there are really changes when I say there will be changes, and if indeed the new choices will give you a new life.

I am at a point of choice, so let us see the whole process, and see what we see. OK?

For background, enough to suffice, I hope, that just having a website, one website, and even lots of unique articles won’t get you far in today’s economy. You need to have and you need to do a lot more to make a living.

About six-seven weeks ago I set up such a supportive system on a well recommended web hosting site, and it took a lot of work. Then the web hosting site decided to do some internal work, and it hasn’t gone well. My supportive system (100 websites) is entirely offline. I am paying 99 dollars rent. And they don’t seem to care about me.

Now, here it is where it gets juicy for our purposes.

How do I do the 67 steps that my life is on an upswing?

I watch, or better said, listen to the next 67-step when I have time, maybe even hours, to ponder. Commuting time, making dinner, doing the laundry are perfect times for that. Instead of what other people do, listen to music or some other crap, I ponder. Seriously. I limit the input onto my life to maximum two hours a day… and the input needs to be worth its weight in gold.

When I tried to answer the questions, when I started this program, immediately after the exposure to the lesson, I was pitiful, much like you all. Pitiful, shallow, narrow… I noticed it fast, and made the necessary changes.

Nowadays, before I start listening, I put the questions into my consciousness: they will be there, like seeds, that get watered and nourished by the lesson. Before I listen…

And, just like with seeds, the answers need time to germinate.

The dangers of having empathy…

I saw something really important this morning.

One of my students is planning to build a business that he can do while working for a big corporation full time.

He knows what he wants to do. He knows why he wants to do it. He has the skills: he is good at it. If he gets a client: the client will be happy.

But… having a product, a service, is one thing. Selling it is another thing.

To sell anything doesn’t need you to be good at doing the service, or creating a good product.

Selling is a whole other business.

You either need a partner who can sell anything, or you need to become good at sales. Not easy.

Why? Because to sell anything, an idea, a relationship, intimacy, sex, going on vacation… anything, you need to be able to be in the other person’s head and speak from there.

The 67-step coaching, the good life and your Soul correction

In my last article, I was praising Thought Experiments as a tool to get to the good life.

But: in the area of thinking you are like a human who gave up trying to walk after the first failure, and is now zipping around in a motorized wheelchair.

Alternatively, you could have been educated in the United States… the result, no thinking, is the same. Same in China…

A thinking person is dangerous “civilization”.

But I am thinking all the time! you cry…

But you are not thinking, you are having thoughts. No conscious effort.

Are any of the soul correction types fare worse off than others?

Hell yeah. Your soul correction is your cross to bear… and some are worse off than others.

What do I know that you don’t, that I don’t often get upset? In spite of my peppery constitution…

One of the things I learned in Landmark Education, ¹ is that there is physical development, and there is emotional, ethical, moral development each person needs to go through to become a fully functioning adult.

It was brand new information to me and it blew my mind.

It was new to me in spite of the fact that I was educated, having read thousands of books… even about child psychiatry, and yet, it was an earth shattering revelation to me.

I, like other people, thought that children were born with the capacity to understand why certain things are harmful, etc.

I’d thought that the inability to comprehend and appreciate responsibility for your own actions, for example, was not inability, instead it was unwillingness. If nothing has worked for you… you are still as stuck as ever

Let’s look at the role of discovery in growth… your growth… if there is no growth, there has been no discovery.

All the steps of the 67 steps program are nudges for you to discover something that you haven’t seen.

Of course, like with everything, your tendency is to go to your head for the answers, and not look at all outside of your head.

The step (Step 5) where the homework is to list what you see about poor people and rich people is a great step to show your relationship to growth.

If you think you are rich, you go and tell me how what you do, how you think, how you feel is the way to be rich. No looking, no discovery.

Without distinctions everything stays the same

In the old Landmark Education Forum, or in the old 4-day Forum, the old Advanced course… the course leader came in yelling: “for you everything is the same as everything else…” or alternatively: “You don’t know your ass from a hole in the ground“.What are distinctions and what they have to do with a life worth living?

What they meant to say is that you don’t have distinctions and therefore life is a mess of undifferentiated stuff… and you have no power with it.

Distinctions are the different ways to look at things. There are a lot of those… most of those you don’t have.

In the normal course of events you judge things looking through the distinctions you have. Why? you don’t have a choice about it.

Empaths, psychics, healers: could you become one? Can it be handed to you?

It’s very uncomfortable being an empath who “evaluates” others.

Any psychic, or seer, or empath, or whatever… even doctor, who isn’t uncomfortable is a shyster. After all you don’t know.

Knowing anything is arrogant. You see or feel what you see or feel, and you are ready to question it.
