The difference: on the Tree of Knowledge, the Tree of Life?

The difference: on the Tree of Knowledge, the Tree of Life?

What is the biggest difference between living on the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life?

Words are not the thing they symbolize. If you write “dog” that is not a dog, that is just ink on paper, or the idea of a dog.

A dog is physical. It had a beginning and an end, a birth and a death, and it even began before it was born.

It is the result of a physical process that takes time, takes ingredients, takes caring, takes doing.

You cannot go from the idea of a dog to dog, or the idea of death to death.

It is easy and fast, lightning fast, to have an idea. And it is easy to think that ideas are the thing they symbolize.

That happiness comes from words, or being comes from words, or health comes from words.

It is easy to be duped like that. Continue reading “The difference: on the Tree of Knowledge, the Tree of Life?”

A life worth living… But what is a life worth living?

A life worth living… But what is a life worth living?

your-shadow-is-living-a-life-worth-livingWe had a fabulous session in the From Upset To Communication course yesterday.

One of the things a good course leader does regularly, is ask people the question what they are up to.

What are you up to? What is the purpose that makes it worth for you doing this course?

The purpose of communication

The purpose of communication is to make something happen through other people: more love, more money, more prestige, peace, sell more, make an agreement… the something is not defined. Lots of things. Continue reading “A life worth living… But what is a life worth living?”

What keeps you from what you want? Can you change it?

What keeps you from what you want? Can you change it?

The world has never been so divided.

The dividing criteria is intellectual and spiritual abilities, the ability to tell truth from falsehood. To interact with reality the way reality is… not how it should be.

The stupid is becoming stupider, and the smart remains the same. Said in another way: the underachiever is stuck there… and more are joining him. 1

In this article I’ll look what may be a linchpin issue, and how you can start moving from the hopelessly stupid to the smart camp.

Here are a few contenders to being the linchpin issue:

How Queen Elizabeth can teach you a lot about life, and how to live it successfully

How Queen Elizabeth can teach you a lot about life, and how to live it successfully

There is an arc to this article… I arrive to the answer after a journey to it, in the second half…

What is the reason that some people learn and grow, while others stagnate?

I read an interesting sentence in an old marketing book:

“Generally we don’t decide we want to get married and then pick the person who seems to be the most desperate to get married and propose to them.”

In that document, TheMissingChapter, the author talks about selecting a business to pursue, but what he says applies to any aspect of life.

  • If you are desperate for money… banks won’t loan you any.
  • If you are desperate for love… it will elude you.
  • If you are desperate for success… you’ll make all the wrong decisions.

Desperation is a very poor advisor, it makes you incoherent.

The worst mistake a service provider can make is cater to desperate people.

I am still working on kindness. And will continue until I get good at it.

I am still working on kindness. And will continue until I get good at it.

By the way, this is exactly how I “dealt with” the tens of spiritual capacities in the past 30 plus years: “chew” on one until I got all the juice out of it.

Spiritual capacities are a lot like a language: with each new one a whole new world, a whole new understanding becomes available. A whole new person. A whole new way of looking at the world.

I’ve read somewhere that schizophrenia and speaking several languages are intimately connected: the new language brings about as much change as if you were had grown a new personality… They probably should have written: multiple personality disorder… Disorder smisorder… Bah.

I am speaking about the miraculous switching ability of perspective, of understanding… the capacity underlying kindness. Where at a moment’s notice the “kind” person moves their perspective to include the place from where the other is speaking. Or in the parlance of the Partnership Course, they can change the field inside which to listen.

The hidden spiritual capacity that is underneath all the others… I think.

The hidden spiritual capacity that is underneath all the others… I think.

some people never learnIt’s been coming up with more and more frequency:

We don’t know what it looks like to be good, to be kind, to be independent, to be happy, etc.

I wrote recently about my quest to become a kind person.

I am 70 years old. Why now? why so late in life?

When I look back at my childhood, when I look at my brothers, their wives, I see no kindness. EVER.

I am now able to be kind except right now, today… I am irritated, and out of balance… I don’t want to share the “story”, but please know that there are innate capacities and learned capacities. I will never be as patient as a saint… especially when I am out of balance… Kindness and patience are intimately connected.

Spiritual virtues, like kindness, goodness, love, forgiveness… etc. you only learn when you see it in many situations. We could be simplistic and call it learning by osmosis. Continue reading “The hidden spiritual capacity that is underneath all the others… I think.”

I got scared this morning. My stomach is still in a knot…

I got scared this morning. My stomach is still in a knot…

Something interesting happened to me this morning: I got scared.

What’s so interesting about that, Sophie? Good question. I don’t normally get scared. Last I got scared when Trump got elected. That was four months ago. That was also interesting. 2

You can say that I get scared twice, maybe three times a year… nowadays.

So what happened that scared me this time was a request to “read” someone’s vibration. Not the whole ten measurements, the starting point measurements, just their vibration. That is always a warning sign, by the way. It means, I feel, that there is no curiosity, it is just checking ME against what they KNOW.

Of the 10 measurements the vibration is the least useful and you have the least amount of chance to effect directly. So when someone only asks for that, my warning signals go off… Either they are too stupid, or too arrogant to know what is up. Continue reading “I got scared this morning. The crucial difference. People on the top and you. Part 1

The crucial difference. People on the top and you. Part 1

I slept in today.

I had a dream up till the very moment I opened my eyes.

In the dream I talked to lots of smart people. So I didn’t want to wake up… I was hanging around longer than usual in the threshold. I talked to Warren Buffet, Charlie Munger, Bill Gates, Michael Jordan… I also watched them.

I wasn’t looking for answers, I was looking. And I got some answers.

I was curious to see how they were that they could go so far further than most in wealth, success. In fame. Continue reading “The crucial difference. People on the top and you. Part 1”

What is the dynamics of hate? What is the real cause of hate?

What is the dynamics of hate? What is the real cause of hate?

I know, I know. All you positive thinkers don’t even want to accept that there is hate. Because you so hate negativity, right? From joking aside, listen up.

If you want love, you need to be intimately familiar with hate. If you want peace you need to be intimately familiar with hate. If you want good: you need to know evil more than the evil person.

You won’t get tainted. It doesn’t stick. Nothing that is not yours will stick to you.

But if you hate covering it up with sticky sweetness… this article will help you see the dynamic, and stop it at its root.

So, here it goes:

From time to time, some incident triggers me to get bummed out. I don’t even have to be present… I can just think it… lol.

Yesterday I measured a person who had an attachment. I removed the attachment, because I was already connected to her. Her vibration jumped to 260. The highest vibration of a person ever coming to me. Continue reading “What is the dynamics of hate? What is the real cause of hate?”

Word of the Year 2016 is… Post-Truth

Word of the Year 2016 is… Post-Truth
Word of the Year 2016 is…

Republished from https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/word-of-the-year/word-of-the-year-2016

After much discussion, debate, and research, the Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year 2016 is post-truth – an adjective defined as ‘relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief’.

The script was provided by a guest writer, the cultural commentator Neil Midgley.

Why was this chosen?

The concept of post-truth has been in existence for the past decade, but Oxford Dictionaries has seen a spike in frequency this year in the context of the EU referendum in the United Kingdom and the presidential election in the United States. It has also become associated with a particular noun, in the phrase post-truth politics. Continue reading “Word of the Year 2016 is… Post-Truth”
