Lack of humility that causes you not to learn

Lack of humility that causes you not to learn

A fresh look at lack of humility… the lack that causes you to not be able to learn new things

I am reading a book that says: the purpose of life is survival.

It is clear that the purpose of the selfish genes is survival. Not the vehicle (for a human gene the vehicle is a human body) but itself. The gene. Long and short term survival. The gene actually doesn’t care whether that survival is noble, enjoyable, fun. None of that. Just survival long enough to produce another generation of vehicles.

The human vehicle, because of its consciousness, desires quality of life, liberty, and self-determination… the list is probably a lot longer, but the human vehicle, you, definitely considers a life without those not worth living. Not a life for a human. The history of humanity could be told through the struggle, resignation, stagnation, loss, of those values. From freedom to overt slavery to hidden slavery… this is where we are now.

So I am going to look at the issues that hold my students back through that distinction: survival. If what I find is true about my students, it is probably true for other people… as well, maybe even you…

So, the question is: how does lack of humility serve survival… or the illusion of survival? After all an individual’s ability to survive increases greatly by learning new things… and yet.

Even if the movement starts in the direction of hell…

Even if the movement starts in the direction of hell…

As you can see, I republished one of the most important articles I have ever published.

What is important in that article is the insight. It is an insight about a life well lived. Einstein said:

“If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut.” 1

The insight is that you can use the laws of physics in your life to succeed.

We can use Newton’s first law to achieve great things, to live a life we were meant to live, to live the life Life meant for us to live.

Who or what has the power in your life. You? something else?

Who or what has the power in your life. You? something else?

struggling to make ends meetMarch is a survival month. I have been observing it for 30 years. If a business can make it past March, then it will make it another year. This is due to people’s (the buyers who keep business in business) spending habits…

For people, the reason they don’t have money to spend in January, February and March, I think, begins by overspending in December. Then they scramble through January, February and March to make up for the Christmas indulgence.

Most people live hand to mouth, YOLO (you only live once), Epicurian… Continue reading “Who or what has the power in your life. You? something else?”

Dr Eric Berg… vibrational review. Is he a quack?

Dr Eric Berg… vibrational review. Is he a quack?

body-typesFor those of you who came here just for the numbers: the guy is guided by greed. Dr Eric Berg’s personal vibration is 170, the same as Tai Lopez, cut from the same cloth… and the method depends a lot on your accuracy, as you’ll see. But it is 7% at its best.

I wrote this article when I was 33 pounds heavier, and a lot less happy with my life.

I have, since, advised many clients who, except for two, did really well on my recommendations. Continue reading “Dr Eric Berg… vibrational review. Is he a quack?”

Who and what is making your decisions, your attitude, your behavior?

Who and what is making your decisions, your attitude, your behavior?

From time to time a student or client confides in me that they resent being told what to do.

I find that really funny, especially when they paid me well for telling them what to do.

But such is human nature… or is that human nature?

This question is what this article is about. How do you know it is you and not some addon making your decisions for you? Continue reading “Who and what is making your decisions, your attitude, your behavior?”

Is happiness even possible? Is self-hate, self-punishing a good path to it?

Is happiness even possible? Is self-hate, self-punishing a good path to it?

It’s Tuesday, and my Rob Brezsny horoscope arrived this morning.

It addressed something I wanted to address, because it is important: treating yourself well by providing yourself with what you need to be well, to do well, to feel well.

You treat your pets better than yourself.

If you were only judgmental and stingy with others, that would be one thing. But you are stingy with yourself.

You judge yourself harshly, you treat yourself badly, and you skimp on yourself first.

Consider yourself your own child, or your own pet? And your relationship, your treatment of it public.

A lot of people, in private, abuse with impunity, but would not dare do the same in public, or when someone can see it. They fear judgment. Continue reading “Is happiness even possible? Is self-hate, self-punishing a good path to it?”

The connection between your vocabulary and your deserving factor

The connection between your vocabulary and your deserving factor

The connection between the number of words you can correctly use in writing or in speaking and your intelligence, your worth a damn factor, and your deserving the good life… or not.

I am a reader. I read a lot. But yet, a whole new world opened up for me when I started to read on the Kindle. Why? Because it has a built in dictionary. As a result, I have added, to date, 2,000 words to my vocabulary.

It was very cumbersome to read with a dictionary before… I would lose my place, etc.

But the Kindle has made it possible.

I find the word… but sometimes the word in the dictionary is not useful. Continue reading “The connection between your vocabulary and your deserving factor”

Tree of Life or Knowledge gives you what kind of life?

Tree of Life or Knowledge gives you what kind of life?

I just exchanged emails with the author of the Feelings book, Gyozo Margoczi.

Gyozo means Winner, or Victor in Hungarian… someone who wins over something or someone.

My name: Sophie, means Wisdom.

Names can be taken two ways:

  • 1. you are that
  • 2. you need to become that
He wrote the books. Major accomplishment. Big win… mostly like a tree falling in a forest that didn’t make a sound because there was no one to hear it… until I came along.

How WANTING and DESIRE put you into scarcity

How WANTING and DESIRE put you into scarcity

It’s January, and a good large percentage of the searches on my site are for the mindset of money… People’s mind is on abundance this month… and it will stay there till April…

I have been observing people and businesses for decades. If you made it through March, then you probably made it another year… but the sense of impending doom begins in January.

I read a story about a woman who gave away ALL her money.

She was, a millionaire (or close to it) at the time. In any case, she came from money.

Her grandfather was a famous industrialist. Her parents had owned houses and property all over the world.

Thing is, this woman (who had been born into all this money and the lifestyle it afforded) didn’t feel right about it.

She felt she hadn’t earned it.

So she gave it away, ALL her entire inheritance. Lock. Stock. And Barrel.

Then she began doing workshops on contributing to the greater good of society.

The newest measure to predict your future success… this one is like a ladder

The newest measure to predict your future success… this one is like a ladder

are you a twitchy little bastard?Every human is moved by their emotions and feelings plus thoughts: words, ideas, concepts. In this order.

The motive power, the stimulus to act comes from the feelings.

The words, ideas, concepts only modify them, or direct the actions.

Without the thoughts, the words, the ideas, every human would act the same way. They would have to.

So the main difference between people is really the words, the ideas, what they say about what they feel.

One extreme is the “Twitchy Little Bastard“, while the other extreme is Jeff Bezos.
