Christmas and vegetables are the first means to destroy joy in children.

How many days till Christmas makes the days till Christmas something to get through, so the real thing, Christmas can come along.

And eating your vegetables so you can get to the promised land of dessert… You are doing that to your children… you are doing that to yourself. Other examples: get good grades so you can get into a good school… Study to get good grades… Study so you can dazzle by having the right answers… Recognize yourself?

Unconditional Love lyrics

Unconditional love… we all want it.

What does it mean in the common consciousness: it means that you can do whatever you want and you will still be loved, employed, healthy, etc…

What it doesn’t mean is YOU loving someone or something unconditionally.

Why? Because you can’t. It’s not how we are wired. It is counter to your instinct of survival. So you don’t, and you aren’t loved unconditionally. Not at least from the outside, by people.

But you can love yourself unconditionally! At least the two distinct you-s, that you have living in you, your observing, witnessing, guiding you, and your bumbling, clumsy, dumb, mistake making you…

The moment the two you’s are together, your experience of yourself and your life alters, dramatically. Your life won’t be marred by trying, and efforting, and fear, and anxiety… You’ll be as free as the the distance between the two you’s goes away.

I have ten unfinished articles on my desktop. It doesn’t feel I have enough to say in any of them to make them a real article.

This one is starting out the same way, to become an unfinished article. I don’t know what to say. I don’t know how to make it a good article.

The base of this article an insight I had just now, five minutes ago.

The situation was: I have been screwing up everything I touched today. Watch my language, by the way.

So, I told myself: “Don’t be a jumping jack. Look before you leap.”

I closed my eyes, and I heard the little voice say: “I don’t know what to look at!” Whiny tone, imagine a 3 year old saying it.

What is greed?

Man feels meaningless, empty, hollow within, and wants to fill it, stuff it. The effort to fill it somehow is greed. That effort is bound to fail for the simple reason because whatsoever you accumulate remains on the outside; it cannot reach within you. And the problem is within… and the solution you are seeking is without.

For example, you are feeling meaningless inside you and you are trying to fill it by money. It is a stupid effort, unconscious effort, not seeing a simple point: that money can be gathered, accumulated, but it will pile up around you. You can have mountains of money around you… there have been people with mountains of money.
