Can humanity be saved? Saved from itself… Let’s look

I had a birthday conversation with my big brother yesterday.I love my big brother. He is two years older than me, and until I was six years old we slept in the same bedroom, and we were the best of friends, even though he occasionally tortured me…I have two brothers. I never developed a relationship … Continue reading “Can humanity be saved? Saved from itself… Let’s look”

What is frustration? And what does it say?

All emotions speak!I have, until a few minutes ago, thought that to be frustrated something needs to be block or hinder you in an action…I am finding out that frustration is actually synonymous with disappointment.

Don’t set ambitious goals! sounds counter cultural?

In the famous marshmallow experiment by Walter Mischel. He said that the 30% of the kids that didn’t eat the marshmallow, didn’t even look at the marshmallow. They kept doing other things, keeping their eyes off the marshmallow. Consciously, intentionally, and purposefully. The marshmallow is ‘the thing’, the goal people want… and it is what actually … Continue reading “Don’t set ambitious goals! sounds counter cultural?”

A new lease on life. How I got, unexpectedly, what joy is

Last night I had a conversation with myself and Source. As I shared in my previous post, I have lived my whole life based on an untrue assumption that I was living on borrowed time, and at any time it can be taken away.I saw that life needs to be set up in a way that … Continue reading “A new lease on life. The other destabilizing energy: the energy of the urges

Yesterday I wrote about the destabilizing energy of avoiding, fighting, resisting. The enemies of having a good life, having a productive life. The enemies of being able to concentrate your energies on what you are working on.There is a whole other type of energy that works the opposite way… the urges and the cravings.

When the lightening has no thunder, you can’t hear it…

Sometimes, actually quite often, changing one word could be the difference between living a life in quiet desperation and living a life in excitement and eagerness…But what is the word? What is the word that makes the spirit that has been dormant in you open its eyes and say… let’s go? Let’s fly.

In February 1988 my career as an architect ended with a whimperIt went out like a light.I was 41 years old.I was sure I had nothing to offer, I had no value, and I had no future. It felt like I was on a stormy sea, on a ship, and had no control where the ship … Continue reading “Wherefrom comes the energy? and why does it fizzle out?”

What gives you wings? What do you hope will give you wings?

When I was a kid I read a book about Sam Small, The Flying Yorkshireman. I read it in Hungarian… It was easier to read in Hungarian than in English… Ugh… that Yorkshire accent in writing… impossible to tolerate.Anyway, this Sam Small could fly. And I decided that I wanted to fly too. I spent … Continue reading “What gives you wings? What do you hope will give you wings?”

Do you have an unhealthy relationship with money?

I thought I would report on the Moneyroots workshop… given the seemingly no interest… Four people, the same four people paid for both workshops. That made it very easy for me: I didn’t have to repeat anything… I am not good at repeating, my brain isn’t good at that. My brain is like the adventurers of … Continue reading “Do you have an unhealthy relationship with money?”

Something keeps you down… do you know what it is?

One of the signs of intelligence is for someone to be able to see and actually see the big picture. To see you need to look. Look and see. Most never look. Or when they look they are looking for something, which means they narrow their cone of vision… to minuscule width. Results: most people never see what … Continue reading “Something keeps you down… do you know what it is?”
