Don’t even look at the marshmallow… or else

Don’t even look at the marshmallow… or else

I like failed experiments. Why? Because successful experiments are more likely the result of confirmation bias… So even in experiments I opt for the Anna Karenina Principle: remove all that isn’t a certain yes, everything that is accidental in the results or make the result a bad result, something I don’t want.

So I am preparing for an experiment today, the “don’t eat the marshmallow” experiment.

I have been, thus far, absolutely unreliable and untrustworthy to not eat something I should not eat, like candy or chocolate, or fruit.

So I ordered a 10 oz bag of dark chocolate covered mint patties, sugar free. Last time I did this I ate all of it within 16 hours… Continue reading “Don’t even look at the marshmallow… or else”

How to keep your vibration high at Christmas?

How to keep your vibration high at Christmas?

It seems that around this time the  world is disappearing into two main fantasy lands, two main unrealities: Christmas, and making cash infusion into their lives.

All of that is horizontal plane, all of that is low vibration, all hurry, all puppets on a string.

All based on the unreality of lack. Scarcity.

Reality for dummies… The landscape of the inner reality

Reality for dummies… The landscape of the inner reality

Life doesn’t seem to be nice to you. It doesn’t give you what you want, and it gives you a whole lot of what you don’t want.

But there is a science, a system of how to flip that over… and this is what this article is about…

The inner reality…

It’s not when you can talk about it. It is not when you understand. It is when you can actually SEE it happening, this is when consciousness may take over… and lead you to where your inner terrain can become more friendly to you.

You see, reality is hard to see.

Why? Because just like pin tumbler locks, with many pins that need to align, need to be picked, or need you to have the right key, can keep you out of your house, the many filters, the many members of your Team You, will all have a say in what you can see…

Team You is like any democracy: the voice of the stupidest is the loudest… just look at America. Continue reading “Reality for dummies… The landscape of the inner reality”

The Dragon Tail effect: your effect on your world

You are unaware of your effect on your world. The world sees your dragon tail effect… only you don’t. You are a lot like a 3-year old who covers their eyes and thinks they can’t be seen…

Awareness is what you can see. Your awareness level is another Starting Point Measurement…

Why Do Kids Cover Their Eyes When Hiding?

By Joanna Goddard in https://cupofjo.com/2012/11/why-do-kids-cover-their-eyes-when-hiding/

You know how children often cover their eyes when they want to hide? Well, Cambridge researchers wanted to discover why, and here’s an amazing quote from their findings…

“In both studies so far, when the children thought they were invisible by virtue of their eyes being covered, they nonetheless agreed that their head and their body were visible. They seemed to be making a distinction between their ‘self’ that was hidden, and their body, which was still visible. Taken together with the fact that it was the concealment of the eyes that seemed to be the crucial factor for feeling hidden, the researchers wondered if their invisibility beliefs were based around the idea that there must be eye contact between two people—a meeting of gazes—for them to see each other (or at least, to see their ‘selves’).”

How sweet is that? Children are fascinating. Continue reading “The Dragon Tail effect: your effect on your world”

Feelings, emotions… what should you do with them?

Feelings, emotions… what should you do with them?

Most people have one or two tools in their tool box… And what is even stranger: they don’t want any more. Why?

Some of you cannot deal with complexity, and therefore you will deny your right to feel feelings. And some of you will indulge your feelings and never look, never ask any probing questions that could let you see what is really going on…

What am I talking about?

In the Playground program, always starting new groups, we attempt to bring clarity to life, we attempt to reclaim our power over our lives by separating what life seems to be, what seems to be happening in many different ways. One of these is having a “reality” side, everything a Martian could see or detect, and another that is all words. Continue reading “Feelings, emotions… what should you do with them?”

Recognize the deadly undertow… the rip current…

Recognize the deadly undertow… the rip current…

There is a saying: man makes plans, god laughs… but how do you explain it without god… I am an atheist. This article is about what it means “god laughs” and what happens to you and your plans if you don’t know what it means, and how to recognize it.

I found something I have never seen before.

As I have said before, the case, your case, is a shape-shifter, and it knows more tricks than are found in all the trick books out there.

As you know, my case is that I am dead, should be dead, who knows how long I have…

Now, learning, starting a new business, learning a software is for the long term. And I have found myself a non-starter in that. I have more programs I have never even started to work with that cost me more money than I could afford.

And I never understood why I don’t do anything with them. Continue reading “Recognize the deadly undertow… the rip current…”

Who is your soul-mate? Are they nice-nice, or accepting?

Who is your soul-mate? Are they nice-nice, or accepting?

One of my students is asking a really good question.

She has two friends whose soul correction is Forget Thyself… and she has a good relationship with me… and I have that same soul correction.

She asks:

Sophie, after I read your last article I checked my last 2 friends’ soul corrections. My one friend who pushed me to a certain level had a soul correction Forget Thyself. My friend now, whom I met this year, also has a soul correction Forget Thyself. Interesting. Do we get attracted to certain soul corrections or maybe we get along better with some soul corrections that matches our soul correction?

The answer is not that simple.

  • We know that we have two selves. One self doesn’t change. We can call it the soul. Or the Self. Or whatever you want to call it, it is unchanging. It is the same in you, it is the same in me… it is, maybe, the Self of what’s possible for the human species…
  • Obviously your other self is far from that, it is changing, it is reactive, put together, selfish, and complaining, and haughty, and bossy… all the things you see everywhere.

You are BEING that other self. Continue reading “Who is your soul-mate? Are they nice-nice, or accepting?”

Weeping looking back at the path — republished

I wrote this article in 2015. I am republishing it… because it is important to read now… given the next article I just wrote… It will make it easier to get.

Here I am this cool Saturday morning, weeping.

I observe. What is there? Pain, definitely. Sense of loss, yes. Sadness, no. Regret, no. Resentment, no.

I have had a hard life. The hardest part is the last 30 years. Maybe 33… Since I left Hungary.

In Hungary I had friends. I had people who would want me around, who would walk with me, who would vouch for me.

The bumbling idiot’s guide to a life worth writing about

“The only thing worth writing about is the human heart in conflict with itself” said William Faulkner. I agree, even though the language, the vocabulary is imprecise.

The “heart” is one self, and the other self is the precious I, the delusional I, the lower self.

The conflict, the struggle to make those two selves align, as William Faulkner says, is worth writing about… because it is like a hero’s journey.

I call it “soul correction” because I am firmly rooted in Kabbalah’s view of life. But it is the same thing: bringing the two selves in harmony so they cause synergy that allows living a life worth writing about.

This pretty much the context for the next quote: “Either write something worth reading (about) or do something worth writing (about).” – Benjamin Franklin. I added the word “about” in brackets for clarity. Continue reading “The bumbling idiot’s guide to a life worth writing about”

The path to self-love… a totally different take… a valid one.

Some 35 years ago I read Rav Hillel’s few lines, If I am not for myself, who will be for me?

If I am not for me, who will be for me? And when I am for myself alone, what am I? And if not now, then when?

it flew in the face of the culture I was raised in, Socialism… I cried, and started to attempt to integrate it.

It took me 35 years.

It’s the hardest of any journey to self-love, self care.

It was for me, and it may be for you… It is easier when you have a teacher.

The main job of a teacher is to hold the dirt while you are digging for gold. The gold is there, but unless someone is there to hold the dirt, the dirt falls back into the hole and covers the gold.

I just listened to a TED talk, and it lays out an amazing and simple way to take care of yourself…
