What didn’t I know that can finally help you to break through?

What didn’t I know that can finally help you to break through?

what is it that you don't know? When something is not working, there is something you didn’t know

In the movie, The Truman Show, Truman lives in a ‘bucket’ of a world, that is in essence a movie stage. He doesn’t know it… For a long time life works, until it doesn’t.

For a while he doesn’t know why it is not working… and then he finds out that he lives in a bucket of a world. Then his overwhelming desire is to live in a bigger world…

A bigger world where he is allowed to love the woman he loves. This desire gives him courage to go beyond everything he knows…

I have a few very loyal students who haven’t been able to move, who haven’t been able to move beyond their bucket… So why are they loyal? Because their lives are too limiting, because they still HOPE they can get beyond… beyond their big stop. But they haven’t gotten enough courage to move beyond.

What do I mean ‘big stop’? Continue reading “What didn’t I know that can finally help you to break through?”

A practical and easy method of changing your personality

A practical and easy method of changing your personality
Can you go back to the past and change it? Will YOU change with it? Your personality?

Silly sounding question, but it is not as silly as it sounds.

Because we look at life, at what is happening, through the limited perspective of the human mind, we actually don’t know what is happening, only

  1. a slice of what happened
  2. only a skewed version of what happened

Ultimately we can only experience and react to what we see, and what we see is both limited and skewed.

You can live your life randomly, or consciously, by design

You can live your life randomly, or consciously, by design

living by-designCharles M. Schwab was one of the ‘robber barons’ of the early 20th century. He was, at the time, one of the richest men in the world. He was president of Bethlehem Steel, but his ambition to become more and more was insatiable.

He hired famed productivity consultant of his time, Ivy Lee… Ivy charged nothing for his service. He requested 15 minutes with each executive of Bethlehem Steel, and said: at the end 90 days (13 weeks) write me a check for what it was worth to you. Is personality fixed? Or can you change it?

Is personality fixed? Or can you change it?
personality…or How powerlessness is ‘inherited’ to you… How your personality predetermines what you can do, what you will do…

I did my first transformational program back in 1985 in beautiful seaside town of Haifa in Israel. We were on the top of a hill that jutted into the Mediterranean sea, in a room with windows on three sides… No matter where you looked out, you saw the endless blue sea… The perfect environment for a course where you were promised that finally you could join the rest of humanity, that finally you won’t be left behind.

Yeah, the promise also said: Creating a world that works for everyone with no one left out.

The world wasn’t working for me… and I felt left out.

How to engineer a breakthrough? an unexpected result?

How to engineer a breakthrough? an unexpected result?

engineer a breakthroughHow to engineer a Breakthrough any time in any area of life?

You may have read about Werner Erhard’s butler, and how he discovered that, putting the cap back on the toothpaste, he was building something bigger than just doing his job. You may have seen that the joy returned to the butler’s work, and his life was suddenly a huge contribution… That is: see it until the next time he gets annoyed, angry… and then he can do it again.

Do what? Ask the question repeatedly: what are you building with that?

Let’s see what happens when I do this exercise with my ‘core’ students. Continue reading “How to engineer a breakthrough? an unexpected result?”

If you were a body of water, would you be a river, puddle?

If you were a body of water, would you be a river, puddle?

river? lake? swamp? If you were a body of water, what would you be? A river? A puddle?Maybe a stream? A pond, a swamp? Let’s look what would help you decide, shall we?

Life needs to be moved… so it moves like a river. Life can also be a lake, fed by a river or a stream. And, of course, it can be a swamp… and most lives are that.

Life could be a river… you grow, you gather strength.

But many of us, maybe most of us, at some point expect the river to grow, and flow, and it just stops. It becomes stagnant.

Most people who come to me have a life like that. Things may happen, mostly out of their control, but they make nothing happen.

Our life needs to be moved, but no one has taught us how to do it.

This thought is what I woke up with today. And the life experience is being heavy, not wanting to get up, not being alive. Continue reading “If you were a body of water, would you be a river, puddle?”

Want to Beat Fear? Here is your Secret: Because Of Great Love One Is Courageous

Want to Beat Fear? Here is your Secret: Because Of Great Love One Is Courageous
beat fear with love. because of great love one is courageousBeat fear? Beat it with love…

Because Of Great Love One Is Courageous (Lao Tzu)

I have an exploratory course. It’s called HeartConnection Meditation.

The goal was to get to a combination of methods to awaken courage.

What we, human beings, experience when courage is needed is fear. And we concentrate on the fear, either by talking about it, or by hiding it. But either way it occupies our entire field of (inner) vision.

When I ask a student what it is that they have the biggest issue with, they say fear.

So I asked the Creator what was the Seat of Courage, and I got the surprising answer: the heart. Continue reading “Want to Beat Fear? Here is your Secret: Because Of Great Love One Is Courageous”

Skill? Talking about flying isn’t…

Skill? Talking about flying isn’t…

this is a skillet...Talking about flying isn’t. Everyone can talk about flying, but only flying is flying… and most people who talk about flying are giving lip service to flying. It takes real skill to fly… Bummer, eh?

Most every course, workshop, book, workbook, even one-on-one coaching, consulting, leave you with no skills. They teach you knowledge… about. Information. Having an idea about how to do something, maybe some even do it for you, but guess what? Next time you need to do something, or something changes, you are sh!t out of luck: you have to hire them again.

My goal has always been to leave you with all the power, and having the skill to do what you need to do is having all the power. Continue reading “Skill? Talking about flying isn’t…”

Taking away what doesn’t contribute: the Anna Karenina Principle

Taking away what doesn’t contribute: the Anna Karenina Principle

anna karenina principleHow does change fit into the Anna Karenina Principle, or the principle said in another way: the method of taking away what doesn’t contribute to happiness to make your life better?

Remember: the Anna Karenina Principle says: All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.

The principle implies that the unhappy families have one or more things that make them unhappy, things happy families don’t have… That happiness is simple, while unhappiness is complicated.

In this article I will look at change and how the Anna Karenina principle, of taking away what doesn’t contribute can be done in the context of change. Continue reading “Taking away what doesn’t contribute: the Anna Karenina Principle”
