The similarity between organized religion and medicine

The similarity between organized religion and medicine… is there any? or Is it the mind or is it the Ego that is holding you back, that is not allowing you to change?

During a recent coaching session, the student was giving the mind all the credit for her issues: fear of making a mistake, fear of doing anything new, fear of trusting anyone or anything, etc. Continue reading “The similarity between organized religion and medicine”

Models of reality: which one is true?

galaxy-universe-space-4-14-s-307x512

Reality is vast, vast beyond human comprehension.

The human brain may be vast, the human consciousness may be vast, but neither of them compares to the vastness of reality.

So no matter how much human consciousness grows, it will never be able to grasp all of reality.

It’s OK… it is just what is so.

Human consciousness, in its ambition, in its desire to comprehend reality, to reduce the risk that life is, to make life predictable and manageable, has been using models of reality: a model is a tool to simplify something complicated, and to make it comprehensible through generalization, imagination.

Money, sex, food, position… the ultimate distractions… but so is bragging about your achievements!

jumping

Summery: Money, sex, food, position… the ultimate distractions… And, judging from readers emails: anything that can take our minds off life, reality… entertainment, drugs, will get our attention, our power, our money… our lives.

Kabbalah says that we all have an aspect that can be called The Opponent. It is like the Devil in you… the opposite of The Spirit, The Soul, or whatever you want to call it. It is the aspect of you that wants to fail you, and it works 24/7.

I woke up to a beautiful day this morning. It was barely day yet, but the sky was a beautiful shade of parisian blue, the snow covered huge tree in front of the house glistened a golden brown. What a beautiful day, how nice warm the bed is, how beautiful life is… I snuggled in deeper and fell asleep again.

Then I had a dream, a vivid dream.

Why You Still Need God. But where do you find God?

looking-for-godSome people are like grasshoppers, others like butterflies, some bees, bumble bees. I seem to be the kind of person who sticks with one “plant” until its juices become tasteless, or until it’s time to move on.

neal-stephensonMy current fascination is with Neal Stephenson, whose novels I would call historical fiction.

I have read the Cryptonomicon, and I am 60% into Quicksilver (The Baroque Cycle No. 1). The main characters of this book are the same family as in Cryptonomicon, only 300 years earlier. In addition to the main characters, Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. Now, you can do your reading on these two giants of science, mathematics, geometry, astrology, if you want, I won’t do it. I am not into that. I am into catching glimpses of heaven in everything I do, everything I watch, everything I read.

Are you on the right track… integrity… compass… conscience. Is there such a thing as a path?

right-path-2The biggest issues that I see students deal with are around the fear of taking a wrong step.

The underlying belief, the underlying assumption is that the soul’s path, your life’s work is a straight line and unless you are on that line, you are off.

This is a very debilitating belief. 1 It is perpetuated by the ego: the ego wants to minimize your investment, and maximize your gains, and it fancies itself to know what you should do.

In the case of life path, what’s next for you, etc. questions, it opts to no action, no change… after all the ego’s job is to keep you safe, and safe, when the ego looks, is mostly staying the safe. You have survived until that point, after all. The ego is interested in looking good and surviving.

The ego’s interest and the soul’s interest are diametrically opposed. The soul wants you to move, to take risks, to have a learning experience. But most importantly, the soul wants your life, your activities, your path to have a direction.

You have a gossipy relationship to life, and to your life

When I look at how people live, I notice an interesting thing: people have a relationship with their life I could best call gossipy. 1

They talk about it, they complain about it, they wish it were different, but the one thing that would make a difference, own it, they don’t do.

This is, I think, is the result of millennia 2 of brainwashing.

In the beginning there were planetary events, that often became catastrophic. They came fast, they were impossible to interpret correctly, and they wiped out the population of countries, entire species, brought about floods and ice ages, starving, and epidemics.

Life was not in your hand, at the time, you were thrown about like a pebble, and with about as much care, by nature.

It makes sense to me that humans wanted to make sense, wanted to understand why those things were happening, so they made up stories by the look of things, a whole parallel world of gods battling it out in the skies, while the unfortunate humanity was reduced to watching it and suffering as collateral damage.

No human could change the heavenly storms, poor, rich, educated or not educated, all fell victim equally.

Marketers are storytellers, often liars… Healers, teachers, gurus, are marketers. And they are liars if their stories are lies…

healers are marketersOne of my favorite books is Seth Godin’s ‘All Marketers Are Liars.’

Now, this book isn’t teaching not to believe everyone’s story, it teaches how to craft your story so people that are like you, that people that are easily fascinated, will become your fans.

In the industry of healers, gurus, psychics, ascension people, the stories are more important than in any other industry.

Supernatural? Empaths, sensitive, empathic person… what is the truth?

feeling

thornsPeople in general are addicted to seeking out and listening to “teachers” they think they know something that is not knowable to an ordinary person.

The way to “know” is to have “supernatural abilities.”

What is supernatural? And what is esoteric? 1

If you look at the Map of Consciousness, you can see that there is no such thing as supernatural, there are vibrational differences. And, probably, there are glitches. And maybe mutants? lol…

Human Being, in his Original Design state is pretty close to what you call supernatural. Yes, compared to the atrophied, slavish, sheeplike human of today, the Original Man was really powerful.

Each generation of humans became more removed from Source, and now, in the sixth generation, there are hardly any traces of the magnificent design we once had.

Some people retained some semblance of the original, but not many. Why? I am not sure. I don’t even have a theory. Maybe genetic, maybe atavistic, maybe a glitch, maybe outside influence. I don’t know.

One capacity that can be considered supernatural because it’s pretty cool, is empathy.

True Empaths are able to connect to anything well defined enough, and feel it, accurately, both on the emotional and the sensory level.

The Guru Myth, Its Destructive Power and A Cure.

Sophie’s notes: I do not necessarily agree with a lot what’s written in this article, yet it’s a good piece of writing, and I want you to read it.

I will add some notes when I have time… And some vibrational measurements of the people he mentions… Patience, it’s coming.

The Word and The Myth.

The word ‘guru’ has taken on a life of its own in Western pop culture. The media and advertising talk about ‘stock gurus,’ ‘marketing gurus,’ sports gurus’ and on and on – the characterization being someone who has a particular insight into their chosen field and is trusted by others as being able to solve certain problems or provide a highly effective strategy on how to be successful.

We know of course that the word originates in India and simply means ‘teacher.’ In India one’s schoolteacher, dance instructor, parent – really anyone in an authoritative or instructive role might be considered your guru in their particular domain.

But when the word is used in a spiritual context it has a very specific meaning and is located within a very particular Hindu belief system. A guru in this sense is a cut above ordinary human beings. What distinguishes the guru from us mere mortals is that they are ‘enlightened’ or ‘self-realized.’

Basically the claim is that there are certain very special people who have crossed a very specific threshold in their spiritual awareness – and they know the ultimate truth about the nature of reality.

A Rant: The Frustrations of a Teacher

frustrated rantingRanting: I use the word ranting as a reference to the original Ranters, nonconformist dissidents, one of many radical groups in seventeenth century England. We live in similarly turbulent times.

This article will probably offend you. I apologize if it does… though that just proves my point, lol, not funny. My intent isn’t to offend you, my intent to move you out of your smugness, your sureness, your “I already know” attitude… So hopefully you can learn something new.

It is hard to have compassion for the person who is frustrated with you, who is angry at you. It requires you to be able to move, at will, from your periphery, where you live, to your real self, to your core… And that is exactly what you have been unable to do… So you will be offended… but now you know why…

So, here is the rant:

Most people will never learn to muscletest accurately. Why? Because when you unconsciously, unawares live in your mind, you will muscletest from the mind, and that is as good as a guess, you don’t need to muscletest. Whatever the mind knows is useless… for the purposes of deciding truth or false. Works or doesn’t… Should you buy or should you not.

What is this mind-thing? Most people (you) live in their mind most of the time, you equate yourself with your mind, you run the whole business of living from your mind. Your results are the results consistent with using the mind to live your life.

To the extent that you live in your mind, to the extent that you are miserable, ineffective, disappointed in life, people, relationship, etc.

Let me use an analogy: It’s like this: you wouldn’t identify yourself with your car, you use your car. You use it to get from place to place.
