One of my pet peeves, one of my biggest complains, one of my unsolvable conundrums has been the issue of “flash in the pan results.” ¹

Excitement, enthusiasm, motivation, the tools of the motivational speakers lasts about three days… they the humdrum days return with the disappointment, despair, and hopelessness.

Transformation and a new view of life results from transformational programs like Landmark Education. But yesterday’s transformation is today’s arrogance, or today’s despair… the results are rare and short term…

When I measure the vibration of a Landmark Education participant, including the leaders, the average vibration is lower than the general population’s.

Are you on the right track… integrity… compass… conscience. Is there such a thing as a path?

The biggest issues that I see students deal with are around the fear of taking a wrong step.

The underlying belief, the underlying assumption is that the soul’s path, your life’s work is a straight line and unless you are on that line, you are off.

This is a very debilitating belief. ² It is perpetuated by the ego: the ego wants to minimize your investment, and maximize your gains, and it fancies itself to know what you should do.

In the case of life path, what’s next for you, etc. questions, it opts to no action, no change… after all the ego’s job is to keep you safe, and safe, when the ego looks, is mostly staying the safe. You have survived until that point, after all. The ego is interested in looking good and surviving.

The ego’s interest and the soul’s interest are diametrically opposed. The soul wants you to move, to take risks, to have a learning experience. But most importantly, the soul wants your life, your activities, your path to have a direction.

The planet’s smartest people have a narrow cone of vision

This is an article I reprinted because I found that it comes at the right juncture: where people are asked to decide if they are going to be the cause of their own evolution, or if they are going to assume the worry for themselves… Worry means no action. It’s a pretense. It is the only recourse of the cowardly, impotent, and ineffective.

Every year, the online magazine Edge–the so-called smartest website in the world, helmed by science impresario John Brockman–asks top scientists, technologists, writers, and academics to weigh in on a single question. This year, that query was “What Should We Be Worried About?”, and the idea was to identify new problems arising in science, tech, and culture that haven’t yet been widely recognized.

This year’s respondents include former presidents of the Royal Society, Nobel prize-winners, famous sci-fi authors, Nassem Nicholas Taleb, Brian Eno, and a bunch of top theoretical physicists, psychologists, and biologists. And the list is long. Like, book-length long. There are some 150 different things that worry 151 of the planet’s biggest brains. Human DNA, DNA upgrade… What the heck is a DNA upgrade?

Human DNA, DNA upgrade… did you get it? Did you want to get it? What the heck is DNA upgrade?

For most of my life I knew I did not care. But no matter how bad that felt, I still could not care. I thought I was the worst person alive, a bad bad bad person. I was sure everybody else could care, only I could not.

I didn’t know, that caring was not part of my DNA.

But as I was raising my vibration, at some point I experienced caring. In a way I invented caring.

Maybe I wasn’t the first person to care, but I was now part of a very small minority. The people who can care, who can love, who can respect. But I still didn’t know I was different. What happens if and when you fall in love or are in relationship with someone, whose DNA is not like yours? Do opposites attract?

In my inquiry into this dangerous jungle of different DNA’s within the human race, I started to see the need to work with people, one on one.

Yesterday I lucked out: I had a new client for another business of mine, who is the perfect person with the perfect history to work on and maybe test these issues: What happens if and when you fall in love or are in relationship with someone, whose DNA is not like yours?

Our guy, let’s call him Chad, met a woman some 16-17 years ago. Chad is a scientist and so is his beloved.

Chad is on a crossroads of sort: he needs to decide whether to take this relationship to the next level. It’s been rocky, so he is hesitant. Intimacy has been lacking in the relationship as well. It seems that opposites attract…

You have a gossipy relationship to life, and to your life

When I look at how people live, I notice an interesting thing: people have a relationship with their life I could best call gossipy. ³

They talk about it, they complain about it, they wish it were different, but the one thing that would make a difference, own it, they don’t do.

This is, I think, is the result of millennia ⁴ of brainwashing.

In the beginning there were planetary events, that often became catastrophic. They came fast, they were impossible to interpret correctly, and they wiped out the population of countries, entire species, brought about floods and ice ages, starving, and epidemics.

Life was not in your hand, at the time, you were thrown about like a pebble, and with about as much care, by nature.

It makes sense to me that humans wanted to make sense, wanted to understand why those things were happening, so they made up stories by the look of things, a whole parallel world of gods battling it out in the skies, while the unfortunate humanity was reduced to watching it and suffering as collateral damage.

No human could change the heavenly storms, poor, rich, educated or not educated, all fell victim equally.

On Procrastination: part 2: the hold-back forces.

Now that we have seen that what is underneath procrastination is the fact that we are still more, much more interested in avoiding unpleasantness, humiliation, etc. than moving towards some purpose.

And avoiding unpleasantness, will, at best, keep you the same… no movement.

From the pdf of the last procrastination article, we saw, that unless you can invent a yummy enough goal, something important enough to go for, you will not be able to move from dead center. Bottom line: procrastination is not a behavioral issue, it is a perfect illustration of physics: if the energies on a body are in balance, the body will not move, unless it was already in movement before the balance.

Bumbling idiots vs. Having All Your Ducks In a Row

I am reading a new book. This one is fiction, and it’s a different style than most fiction I have read: no explanation, written like a movie.

It is entirely up to you what you are going to get out of the book. I like that, it is up my alley. I don’t even mind if I get a whole different thing every day, the opposite of what I got the day before.

The book runs three stories concurrently: two right before and during World War II, and the third is in the mind-1990’s. The main characters meet, cross path.

The biggest takeaway I have, so far, is that all the characters are bumbling idiots, canceling out the myth that some people have it together. No one does.
