What is at the heart of the matter? Of loving life?

What is at the heart of the matter? Of loving life?

What is a distinction? And a definition?

Distinction is at the heart of the matter.

If I ask you what is a human, you can talk for weeks without stopping, and that would be a definition. Everything a human does, feel, aspires for, hopes for, talks about fit well into definition.

But if you look all those, that torrent of words don’t really say the heart of the matter. Continue reading “What is at the heart of the matter? Of loving life?”

Why are no thinkers among the 8 billion, Warren Buffet too

Why are no thinkers among the 8 billion, Warren Buffet too

I am reading a thought provoking book… There it is again, the language distortion.

No, the book is triggering thinking about it, it triggered for me real thinking… not thoughts.

I stayed up three hours later than usual to have the time to think. Continue reading “Why are no thinkers among the 8 billion, Warren Buffet too”

Exercise to create context: What are you building with that?

Exercise to create context: What are you building with that?
What are you building with that?

This question was my absolute favorite in Landmark Education’s Communication Course…

I have tried to ask it of people outside of Landmark Education, and the answers I got was always puzzled silence.

So, what am I asking here?

Well, you are always building something. A more popular but less precise way of saying the same thing: you are always creating something… creating yourself, creating your life, every moment. Continue reading “Exercise to create context: What are you building with that?”

What makes hell hell? Is it a place? Or what?

What makes hell hell? Is it a place? Or what?

I read one or two threads on Reddit every morning.

This is how I stay in touch with what people think, what people say, what people find funny, what grieves them.

Today the discussion was what could convince an atheist to become a believer. What could change their mind?

This is right up my alley… That is all I have ever wanted to know: what would change your mind? Continue reading “What makes hell hell? Is it a place? Or what?”

The human species was ‘designed’ to reach the stars…

The human species was ‘designed’ to reach the stars…
You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.
~ Buckminster Fuller

The human species was ‘designed’ to reach the stars… intellectually and spiritually.

If it were a spaceship, it came with a design flaw: you need to flip a switch  to leave the earth’s atmosphere, and it kind find the switch.

The switch to unload the earthly attitude is there, but it is incompatible with living on earth as a physical being fully relying on the mind’s translation of sensory information.

So humans can’t find the switch. Continue reading “The human species was ‘designed’ to reach the stars…”

Fear, arrogance, laziness… how do these stop you?

Fear, arrogance, laziness… how do these stop you?
I am finding that what stops people from moving ahead in life is either fear or arrogance…

You could argue that laziness should be listed too, but I have found that laziness is a coverup for either fear or arrogance.

Nick Kyrgios (tennis player) is paralyzed by the fear of never being good enough rather than laziness. FEAR, not arrogance or laziness, has surely created the beast that is Nick Kyrgios

I get a lot of requests to eliminate people’s fear, but I am sorry to tell you: I can’t and no one can.

Fear is not the problem, and it doesn’t need to be eliminated.

I am afraid too, and you wouldn’t know from watching me. Continue reading “Fear, arrogance, laziness… how do these stop you?”

Paying for something vs buying it: what is the difference?

Paying for something vs buying it: what is the difference?

In the past ten or so years I have had thousands of people who paid for something. 70% of them paid again and again… For the same thing or something else. Many are still around, reading the articles, and still paying for stuff.

The question is, suggested by the title of this article:

How many of those thousands were buyers? Continue reading “Paying for something vs buying it: what is the difference?”

Can beliefs be changed? With energy, coaching, activators?

Can beliefs be changed? With energy, coaching, activators?

Can beliefs be changed? With energy, with voodoo, with hypnosis, with activators, theta healing, NLP, positive thinking, mind movies, ANYTHING?

Every Joe Shmo and their brother, every so called ‘transformational modality’ goes for the goal of changing your beliefs. Continue reading “Can beliefs be changed? With energy, coaching, activators?”

The atypical brain, being on the spectrum. Genius? Moron?

The atypical brain, being on the spectrum. Genius? Moron?

autism is atypical brainI first heard about ‘the spectrum‘ from a classmate of mine, in 1997. She is, was an advocate for his brother with Asperger’s… which is a certain level of atypical brain syndrome. The mildest is dyslexia, and the spectrum goes all the way to full blown autism.

We have lost touch since, but she has helped me to understand some of the differences I experienced. Differences from others. Continue reading “The atypical brain, being on the spectrum. Genius? Moron?”

Equality, racist, collusion, big words you throw around

Equality, racist, collusion, big words you throw around

The other day I used the free community van to get to stores I cannot get to easily on my own.

Note: in the illustrations I am not taking sides. I am illustrating that there is confusion and disagreement in what race. what is racist. what is racism, and what it does is it makes people rigid, lie about what they think, and vote for Trump… ugh.

The driver of the van has a PhD in sociology He asked me if it bothered me if he continued to listen to NPR radio, National Public Radio. There was a public debate on Trump and on the question whether he was a racist or not. Continue reading “Equality, racist, collusion, big words you throw around”
