Taking a break for rest… does it mean you are off-track?

Taking a break for rest… does it mean you are off-track?

I watched and followed the first Metabolic Prime workout videos.

He said something interesting that I want to expand on: resting is part of working out.

Now, I don’t know much about working out, but I do have some experience… This article won’t be about working out though…

I live on the top of a hill. When I moved here 13 years ago, I could walk down, around the hill, and up again, on a different street, in 12 minutes. I clocked it.

Today, due to aging, pain, and lack of exercise, it takes me 3-4 times longer. A big deal.

So when I signed up to the senior exercise class, I was praying that I could get back up the hill, on my own power… but took money with me for a cab for security.

This was three weeks ago. Continue reading “Taking a break for rest… does it mean you are off-track?”

Stress, pressure, and overwhelm… no wonder you are tired!

Stress, pressure, and overwhelm… no wonder you are tired!

stress-lets-break-upIt was 9 am, and I was already tired… No, correction: exhausted.

So I went back to bed, really curious what was the reason.

I asked and muscletested questions…

I noticed that I was not breathing deeply: in fact I could not. The breath would not go through.

So I doubled up on the question: what is the cause of this inability to take a deep breath? Health, concerns, each individually, and all said no.

Then I asked: feeling under pressure… stress.

And yes, that was it.

The path is very narrow. Strait and narrow?

The path is very narrow. Strait and narrow?
different-cognitive-thinkingYou can’t have it both ways… and you have to have it both ways

The West, the culture of the West is forcing. Forceful. Goal oriented. Mercantile.

No one is interested in the process, only in the result.

Western people are unhappy, and don’t even know the meaning of joy. Continue reading “The path is very narrow. Strait and narrow?”

Cognitive biases, blind spots, a sticky point and a “remedy”

Cognitive biases, blind spots, a sticky point and a “remedy”

center-of-the-universe-2011We are all born seeing ourselves as the center of the world. We don’t know we are the center of our world… we just don’t know there is any other vantage point to look from.

Most of us never learn it.

Like one of my students: every time I recommend anything, she answers: “I agree…”

She hasn’t crossed that threshold, that divide between infant and even toddler… absolutely and completely ignorant to the fact that using the personal vantage point is ineffective, because it is delusional.

This is also true if and when you can see that other people see things differently from how you see them, but your view is accurate and theirs is inaccurate.

Same delusional, baby-view of the world. Continue reading “Cognitive biases, blind spots, a sticky point and a “remedy””

Why are you not ready to take on a project?

Why are you not ready to take on a project?

limited resourcesGiven that I am recommending the 12-week Mastery program, I am keeping my finger on the “pulse” and watching the videos of the 4-video series…

Two reasons:

  1. I am watching for flaws… either in the program or in you… so I can warn you against spending your money… again… on something that won’t make a difference.
  2. I am watching to see if I should do the program myself…

I have just got a glimpse of a flaw that most everyone I know has… including myself… at least in some areas. Continue reading “Why are you not ready to take on a project?”

Quantum Physics seems to say: reality is what you say it is

Quantum Physics seems to say: reality is what you say it is

Sometimes I get really lucky. And if I am ready, prepared, open, and eager for the gift, I can get it, harvest it, and life becomes brighter, by a lot. Clearer… by a lot.

This is what happened to me this morning. Continue reading “Quantum Physics seems to say: reality is what you say it is”

Soul Correction: How do you do it?

Soul Correction: How do you do it?

life-blockedSoul correction is the pivoting point, the fulcrum around which a person can go from gene driven to someone who can become, potentially, an expanding human being.

Said in another way, each person has a particular and typical to their soul correction way that is stuck in a lower way of being.

The most frequent question I hear: how do you fix it? or as one my students said it: “this whole thing turns a lot of corners. I’m not sure i can even recognize all the ways i use it. Nor how to climb out of it.”

The answer will surprise you: The moment you are trying to “climb out of it” or “fix it”… you enter a world of pretense.

Both climbing out and fixing are the genes’ way of pulling the wool over your eyes. To push back the hidden deeper into the invisible.

What foods cause obesity, delusions, mood swings?

What foods cause obesity, delusions, mood swings?

Delusions, Lies, Pretenses, Obesity — what is the cause?

Most people think that they are honest people. Some people know that they lie about this and that.

What they don’t know is that they live on the top of a huge iceberg of lies, delusions, pretenses, but they can only see the tip of the iceberg… unless…

This week was a line of demarcation for me, in more ways than one. Continue reading “What foods cause obesity, delusions, mood swings?”

Dyslexia – the good news and the bad news…

steven-spielberg-dyslexiaUPDATE: I have some underachiever friends and students. I suspect that they may have dyslexia. It just occurred to me… after two excruciatingly difficult conversations in a row… where the partners in the conversation felt stuck, dense, and their level of comprehension is low.

Both are men, both are making a living in their own business, both shy away from learning anything new.

It is one of the worst things for me when I try to teach someone something that they need, and they nod and yes me to death, only to do the opposite or nothing.

Every human wants to make a difference, wants to matter, more than anything, and this flies in the face of that…

But maybe they are dyslexic. Hm.

The 3 Categories Of Gurus Mirrored In The 3 Types Of Seekers

The 3 Categories Of Gurus Mirrored In The 3 Types Of Seekers

guru-worshipThere are three categories of gurus and three types of seekers that fit each other as glove and hand

Guru Category 1. The Hopeful Path:

Naive, pliable, hopeful. Hoping that what you are doing is going to take you out of the misery: having feelings, and a constant battle inside between the aspects of a human being, each pulling in a different direction. You really really really want to be enlightened! Really… lol. But you know you aren’t. There is shame and guilt and sadness in your emotions, and often anguish: the fear of being caught. Ultimately you “do” this spirituality stuff to get away from being human. You fail. There is no escape… you are human, with all that comes with that territory.
