Are You romanticizing human evolution? Enlightenment?

Are You romanticizing human evolution? Enlightenment?
ashramWhat you want the next level of evolution to be

If you take a close look at your fantasy of what it’s like to be “enlightened”, where you want to be, you’ll probably imagine white robes, no pain, no illness, no anger, no fear, no anxiety.

You won’t see, in your imaginary ideal world, work, you won’t see controlling spouses, or dirty dishes piling up, teenagers mouthing off, smog, car pile-ups, murder, or traffic jams.

I don’t want to continue, because the list is endless… in short:

You don’t see, in that ideal world, your life and yourself as human.

You want to reach the next level of evolution by ceasing being human. The way pictures show heaven… tell me if I am wrong.

What clued me in, you ask? Thank you for asking.

Even her husband is changing…

holograin00

When people change around you… who you are blaming? Where do you look for cause and effect? Do you know what causes what? I bet you don’t…

This is a case study of one of my coaching students…

I have been coaching people for about 30 years, and have been running my own programs for almost as many years.

Some people take their own transformation on, and they change. Some, I say, because most people don’t.

I have noticed that certain countries, certain cultures are more conducive for people take their own fate into their own hands… most aren’t. 1

And sometimes, these same people, cause massive transformation for their family, but are unaware of it, and therefore cannot make it permanent, cannot make it last, cannot even acknowledge it.

Soul Correction: The Big Picture

Soul Correction: The Big Picture

Your cone of vision is so narrow, that you cannot even see that you are not your mind, that you are not your ego, that you are not your body, that you are not your past, that you are not your desires.

In that narrow beam of a pen-light every moment you are somebody different, identifying with a different aspect of you… and there is no YOU… You have no core, you have no substance, you are just a pen light…

We all live as if we could see reality, but we are wrong. We walk around with a narrow cone of vision, never considering the environment, the context, other people’s life, thoughts, history, emotions, we walk around if there were no one else but us, nothing else but what we see.

Everything that is outside of the narrow cone of vision that we actually see, is black and white and all shades of gray: no color. We have no details, and we never look there.

We can’t see the forest for the trees, we never see cause and effect, and we never own up to the fact that we never even attempt to see the big picture.

Why do you want to change?

different-perspective-2A guru I used to know, had a conversation with members of his staff, when they wanted to marry someone.

In fact, he saw the couple.

The conversation’s purpose was to find out if the relationship can last or not.

The questions the guru asked of each half of the couple:

  1. what is wrong with the other person
  2. can you be (can you love them, tolerate them, live with them forever) with what’s wrong with them?

Emotional turmoils, emotional upheavals are even more

it comes back to haunt you until you are don with itIt is the natural state of an Expanding Human Being to experience no emotions for hours, maybe even days at a time.

Emotions are a response to life, to danger, and should be momentary and responded to. Not the continuous torturous emotional states you are experiencing.

When something evokes a strong emotional response, fear, disgust, there is something you need to deal with. Something that is out of whack, something that is unfinished business, suppressed, swept under the rug, and threatens to throw you out of you equilibrium, your peace of mind.

Of course, for most people life is going from emotional turmoil to emotional turmoil, but it doesn’t change what I said: emotional turmoil is an indication that there is something unfinished, and it needs to be finished.

Suppressed anger…

repressed_emotionsAnger is a big issue. Feeling anger is totally normal, but expressing it, feeling it is made wrong by society, by family, by spouses.

So we suppress it. We feel shame about it. And it is killing us.

I first attempted to learn how to release my accumulated anger when I was in my mid-thirties… and it took me ten years to do that. I had no guidance, no permission, no one to tell me how to do it, really.

The common misconception is that expressing anger is a good thing: just let it all hang out, yell, beat your pillow senseless, but that is just plain not true. Expressing anger as anger doesn’t empty you of anger, it just makes it worse, it drives it deeper.

Confidence: what is confidence? How to get more confident?

Confidence: what is confidence? How to get more confident?

Confidence is one of the words we throw around without knowing what the heck we are talking about.

In fact, it probably best approached by the symptoms of what’s there when we are NOT confident.

According to wikipedia, confidence is this

conĀ·fiĀ·dence

  1. the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust.
“we had every confidence in the staff”
synonyms: trust, belief, faith, credence, conviction
“I have little confidence in these figures”
    antonyms: skepticism, distrust
  2. the state of feeling certain about the truth of something.
“it is not possible to say with confidence how much of the increase in sea levels is due to melting glaciers”
  3. a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.
    “she’s brimming with confidence”

What would happen if you considered YOURSELF a business? Would you continue mistreating yourself?

brand-called-youWhat would happen if you considered yourself a business? You would consider that your activities either add to the value of the business, or take away from it? Your purchases, your skill level, your attitude, your “customer relations”, your research and development, your maintenance would either contribute to the business of you, or take away from it… would you manage yourself differently? would you treat yourself differently? would you still spend your time doing what you do?

I bet you would have a ton of upset about the things stand now, and a lot to do to turn your life matching a business you’d desire to be! I know, this is exactly what’s happening to me.

On being a good loser: the attitude needed to change?

On being a good loser: the attitude needed to change?

flowingwater02Summary: Being a good loser is an attitude. A pleasant one at that. But what is that all about, and why should you care?

Being a good loser, moment by moment, not be tightened up by momentary losses, is the quality that allows someone to play to win, instead of play not to lose

Bruce Lee said, I paraphrase: “Be formless … shapeless, like water.” Water flows, and is irresistible. It never gets stuck, it is never anxious… it just gets the job done… flow in the direction of gravity.

My goal is to turn you into water, elegant, effortless, flowing. And Expanding Human Being.
