One step of the what’s missing workshop is sobering. As in a horrible wake up call…

probable-almost-certain-future

While writing this article, unexpectedly, I managed to break through a self-imposed barrier I have had… It’s unexpected… Bear with me till the end, please…

In this step of the What’s Missing workshop, the participants’ task is to look at an area of life that isn’t working as well as it could… and look how it will look in 5-10 years if nothing changes.

Rule is: You won’t change your actions… or how you do your actions. You won’t change your attitude…

Result 5-10 years later: homeless, fired, alone, dead, in jail…

These are just examples. Some results are worse than this. Unfulfilled is the worst…

Turns out that the saying, the observation that ‘how you do anything is how you do everything’ finds its roots in this exercise.

Empathy… Life’s most important capacity to master

Empathy… Life’s most important capacity to master

empathy-lifes-most-essential-skillIn my inquiries, I find that more and more capacities that I’ve assumed we all have, it turns out, we don’t.

The question that has been puzzling me is why certain ethnic groups that were persecuted at any one time don’t recognize a similarly persecuted other ethnic group as comrades in suffering. Why one victim can’t and won’t give you a hoot about another victim’s misery.

I mostly see this in movies nowadays, but I used to participate in groups and in big seminars, so I have been seeing this forever.

But this was the first time I asked the question: why is this?

Are these bad people? And I guess that is what I have been stuck with until yesterday.

Yesterday I asked the question: is it a capacity to see the same fate in another?

The answer was yes. Hm… but then what is the capacity? Is it the seeing or is it the appreciating of it?

Could you be crying and be unphased at the same time?

Could you be crying and be unphased at the same time?

the white lotus, the symbol of being unphasedCan you listen to insults to your family, your god, your country and be unphased?

Can you watch death and grieving and be unphased?

I am unphased 91% of the time. Very few things pull me out of the equilibrium. Times when I need to recover so I can return to being well and being unphased. All of these situations are self-created. none of them are real.

I cry a lot. Why? I feel people’s grief, I feel centuries old sadness, I feel people’s pain of not being allowed to grow, or even to live. Continue reading “Could you be crying and be unphased at the same time?”

Why do I use harsh language, why do I provoke you all the time? Or how do you grow a self?

provocation18One of my jobs in causing transformation is to be an agent provocateur… to provoke people in my articles, on my webinars… keep on provoking.

Everything that upsets you drives up some way that you are off… off from the Tree of Life.

One recent occurrence was provoking Canadians about Canada.

Canadians are very sensitive about their country… just like a fat woman is sensitive about being called fat.

When you are offended… you can be sure that you identified with something outside of you… and don’t have a self.

In order to do this work, you need a crystallized self… as Gurjieff said.

I have no idea what that means, but no self is definitely not that… lol.

The slightest wind upsets you… you have no core, you have no toughness… you’ll never grow, until you grow a self.

How do you grow a self?

Paint the Chicks Purple… a great story to illustrate capacity activation

purple chick strategy... beware of the dark sideDNA capacity activation is all about activating the resources of hidden and dormant in your DNA… capacities that mean the difference between a so-so life, and a good life, like resourcefulness and seeing the big picture.

All of the capacities are attitudes and emotional abilities… how you do things, not what you do.

Here is an article I saw that shows a good example or decision-making that uses capacities most people need but don’t have:

The “Purple Chick” strategy:

So what can chicken farmers in the rural district of Nakuru, in Kenya, teach us about resourcefulness?

Well it’s like this:

The role of structures in happiness, in achievement, in a life worth living

perfect-geometric-patterns-in-nature-22__880I am about as religious as a teacup… and that is actually one of the freedoms that allow me to experiment, to allow myself to be guided through torturous paths, to use my life to discover law-like phenomena, to read everything and the opposite, to allow myself to go from despair to elation and back…

Life, the Universe is largely unknowable. You can, by the way, call it “god” if you wish… and please do that if that will allow you to follow this discussion.

This article will be a little bit hodge-podge, given that I have to gather a lot of disparate stuff to make sense in the end. So bear with me.

Your ability to bear with me will be consistent with the number of capacities you have active on your DNA… If you, like most of humanity, have seven capacities active: you’ll have to hang in there, and maybe read it a few times.

OK, let’s begin:

DNA capacity: Deserving… Being Deserving…

bing deservingSome 12 years ago I was in a training program to lead introductory seminars… in essence sell a program in live 3-hour seminars.

The woman who trained us had a steady 80% effectiveness, meaning out of every 10 people, 8 shelled out $500 dollars to do a 3-day course.

The average number for the hundreds of introduction leaders in the world was about 20%… two out of ten attendees.

When we asked what was her secret, she said: I have an attitude: “Of course they register”.

Now, depending on where you are on the deserving scale, this probably sounds to you entitled, arrogant, or stupid wishful thinking.

Even then I knew she was onto something. I felt it. I felt that she was deserving of spending her time effectively with people who hear her. And I felt that she included every single person in that being deserving… the attendees of her introductions, and myself.

The process of going from hopeless to energized and in action: limbering up, becoming flexible

hopeless man... as bad as being homelessAbout 50% of mornings I wake up depressed, hopeless, and regretting that I woke up at all.

Why would that be? Because my view of my life is stuck in a particular vantage point, you could call negative.

And those mornings, with the exception of a few, I look around for ways to unstuck myself. Not because I believe I can… but because I learned to do that.

This morning I read the Monday Morning Memo… and was inspired to write my own based on the same general idea.

I had no idea that I can do it, I had no idea if it would take me anywhere: I had the flexibility to do it.

Did I know it was going to unstuck me? Not really. And it did…

Something similar I do every morning. Sometimes I have to do it over and over and over, sometimes I get swept away by the joy of expressing myself…

And rarely, nowadays, I indulge my hopelessness for a day or two.

Scarcity Thinking? Why knowing this will make you happy?

Scarcity Thinking? Why knowing this will make you happy?

water-grabbersPeople (you) throw around words like they mean something, but in fact they (you) have no idea what they are talking about. And to boot, the words themselves stand in for many words, that don’t match well with the word used to “abbreviate” the phenomenon.

Scarcity is such a word. Scarce… not enough, meager, finite… but how does this apply to scarcity thinking? The attitude of scarcity?

Before I start, let me get something out of the way:

First off, people, you, can’t think, don’t think, instead you use prefab blocks of words and call it thinking. It isn’t. But that, the lack of thinking isn’t the topic of this article, so I’ll just leave it alone, for now.

You see, if I asked you to give me an example, you would be hard pressed to give any, because it would mean actually understanding what you are talking about… but here is a whole article, hopefully, lol, about scarcity… why? Because it deserves to be illuminated, talked about, understood, so you can stop causing yourself being miserable, not even knowing that you did it.

It is all about where the finger is pointing.

revolutionwordsActivism, campaigning

We all want change. The circumstances to change, others to change… We want people to change to what we deem the correct or good way to be.

We want reality to be different.

We put our attention to what’s wrong, in our view, what is missing, in our view.

In essence, we want the world to conform to our norms.

I am describing, to a more or less degree, humanity… though a segment of the population is very loud about it, very verbal about it: activists and campaigners.

The number one ingredient to become an activist, whether it is in your marriage, trying to change your husband and the kids, in school, in industry, in the world, is to have your fingers point, in blame, outward.
