Practical Magic: Do away with depression…

Practical Magic: Do away with depression…

Magic is, according to google: the power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces

How does magic work: still from google: Magic creates a conflict between the things you think can happen and the things that you experience. While some magicians would like you to believe that they possess real magical powers, the true secret behind magic lies in clever psychological techniques that exploit limitations in the way our brains work.

Well, if you had a clever psychological technique that exploits limitations in the way our brains (mind) work, what would you change? What would you use it for?

It’s a great question, it has only one drawback:

We do have a clever psychological technique… Continue reading “Practical Magic: Do away with depression…”

How to make New Year’s Resolutions succeed? of how to unstuck yourself for good?

How to make New Year’s Resolutions succeed? of how to unstuck yourself for good?

The goal of this article is to show you  why you haven’t been able to grow, and how to unstuck yourself: a new methodology.

The size of your projects is the size of your life. Your New Year’s resolution is a project. big or small shows the size of your life.

If you are not working on it, it is not a project. For it to be a project, you need to work on it. Otherwise it is just a fantasy.

The size of the people your project helps is the size of your world.

Giving away money that you didn’t earn isn’t a project.

Yesterday we had the 3-wishes workshop. It’s a fun little exercise. But we didn’t do it for fun. Most fun exercises have hidden huge learnings: about you, about the size of your world and the size of your life.

What does it have to do with a New year resolution? Patience, I’ll make them connect later. First you want to look at the ingredients… there are no jumps in reality, and when you jump, you do that in your imagination, and your results will be also in your imagination, not in reality… How is that for a learning, learning why your New Year Resolutions haven’t panned out thus far… You did jumps in it.

Projects are like building a ladder and climbing it to the fulfillment… not a jump. Continue reading “How to make New Year’s Resolutions succeed? of how to unstuck yourself for good?”

You live in an illusion… like The Matrix… And you are not happy…

You live in an illusion… like The Matrix… And you are not happy…

illusionIn a workshop yesterday we spent some time defining REALITY. what must be present, what checkboxes you must tick for what you see to be reality… and everything that is not reality is illusion.

It was a first for most people… Reality is one of those words: foggy, undefined… amorphous. In the Starting Point Measurements I measure to what degree you are accurate with your vocabulary, especially with words like ‘reality’. Most people are at or below 10% accuracy.

We came up with four criteria… and there could be more.

Reality:

1. collective: everyone should be able to see it
2. there is only one reality and it’s the same for everyone
3. reality doesn’t change over time. The interpretation may, but what happened happened. Continue reading “You live in an illusion… like The Matrix… And you are not happy…”

Ask a good question, win $50

Ask a good question, win

Ask a good question… on a health topic of your choosing. It’s worth $50 to me.

If it is a good question, I’ll answer it in an audio, and in addition to getting the answer, you will win a $50. Not credit, but real god honest cash.

I leave the topic up to you, with one restriction: it has to be on health.

Good questions are hard to come by.

There is an entire site dedicated to good question… the ones that get a lot of answers are the best questions. Why?

Because the question reflects what people are thinking of, what is interesting to people, not just you. Continue reading “Ask a good question, win $50”

You can take the girl out of the culture, but can’t take…

You can take the girl out of the culture, but can’t take…

You can take the girl out of the culture, but can’t that the culture out of the girl…

What culture am I talking about? The homo sapiens culture. The culture of the mind. The cult of the mind.

I am not the first person to talk about it, talk against it… Not even the second… lol.

But it is all in vain… Continue reading “You can take the girl out of the culture, but can’t take…”

If you feel like you are treated like a thing… often like dirt

If you feel like you are treated like a thing… often like dirt

If you feel like you are treated like a thing… often like dirt, a doormat; a thing to use. And no, this not me-too…

I don’t know about you, but being treated like a thing is at the root of almost every human misery… starting when you were little…

So in my practice, I am starting to realize, that is what needs to be dug out and looked at, so people can really get what they are stuck with, what is the thorn that is in their side… why they think they can’t, why they think they have to become special, or rich, or pretty, or thin, or famous… to finally be someone who isn’t treated like a thing.

But while being treated like a thing, it is normal: 99.99% of humanity only sees things, including themselves. In fact, when I muscletest. I get the answer that not more than 1000 people on the planet can see people as people, not as things.

What is even more surprising, all those 99.99% see themselves as things as well. Continue reading “If you feel like you are treated like a thing… often like dirt”

Eudaimonia… living a life you love and live it powerfully

Eudaimonia… living a life you love and live it powerfully

This morning I woke up and have been up now for more than two hours, and not a lick of work has been done… I have been musing.

Hungarian songs swirl in my mind, I look up words I never knew what they meant… but in the age of google you can look up anything, and find…

Old, forgotten words in songs belie the history of the people changing… what they eat, what animals they keep around, how they think.

And then this old movie song sneaks up, in my mind, and I cry and cry again. Continue reading “Eudaimonia… living a life you love and live it powerfully”

Public answer to a question I didn’t answer in my recent office hours

Public answer to a question I didn’t answer in my recent office hours

Office hours… a blissful two way conversation… NOT.ALWAYS!

Yesterday a one-time student came on the call, and asked a question that imitated me. Or better said: I got irritated.

When a question lacks context, the answer either going to be totally unrelated… or not forthcoming.

I have a coach who doesn’t demand that the questioner sets the stage, shows the big picture, inside which the question makes sense. He guesses and quickly answers, I can feel, from whatever he made up… not what the real question would be.

I.HATE.THAT!

So my irritation was mainly due to considering the question a setup, to make me look foolish. Continue reading “Public answer to a question I didn’t answer in my recent office hours”

Course-correction is the nature of Life

Scorpio horoscope: Don’t allow a longing for impossible perfection to derail your commitment to doing what’s right

I got an interesting question this morning from a client who is trying to get healthier.

She asks: I also have another question as I really have to and want to take this food issue really seriously now.

Is there also a test you do where one can see: this is the food the body is really designed for and food which is better to avoid.

A list where I can see this is what the body really needs when its in a good condition and to keep and maintain the health with its appropriate food?

Pay attention to how many time the client uses the word “really”. Continue reading “Could you take advice from the more successful future you?”

Most of life is counterintuitive. Maybe all…

Most of life is counterintuitive. Maybe all…

Most of life is counterintuitive. Maybe all… but I shy away from all, always, every kind of statements… they are always suspect of an ideology…

So how is life counterintuitive?

Here are a few examples:

  • If you want to get something done fast, the worst way to go about it is to hurry. It either takes the same time, but cost you emotional expenditure you can’t afford, or it takes a whole longer.
  • The more coffee (or tea) you drink because you are tired the more tired you become.
  • The higher your moods are the deeper your depression will become.
  • The more important praise is for you the more wounding a bad feedback will feel.
  • The more you want to be happy to less happy you’ll become.
  • If you want to be happy, and say: I will have a little about-me time, or more than a little… you immediately less happy.
  • In fact, the more your life is about you or about your life, the unhappier you become.
