The deathbed exercise… death nearing focuses the mind

The deathbed exercise… death nearing focuses the mind

There is a step in the 67 step program that wants you to look at what would be your obituary if you died today.

But there is a much better test, the test:

imagining yourself being on your deathbed: a thought exercise.

Until today I’d thought that what it drives up is all the things you haven’t done, all the things that are important and maybe you can do now… tell people you love them, and other trite things like that.

But today of all days I had an insight.

The insight came because I was trying to figure out what is in common in people who do the 67-step program well, and people who rush through it, skim the surface.

I was trying to categorize them, but I could not see any consistency.

While I was looking, I asked consciousness to look for me too. Continue reading “The deathbed exercise… death nearing focuses the mind”

You decide: mind candy or good teaching?

Life is a game. This is your strategy guide

Source

Cover-shallow-1024x626Real life is the game that – literally – everyone is playing. But it can be tough. This is your guide.

Basics

You might not realise, but real life is a game of strategy. There are some fun mini-games – like dancing, driving, running, and sex – but the key to winning is simply managing your resources.

Most importantly, successful players put their time into the right things. Later in the game money comes into play, but your top priority should always be mastering where your time goes. Continue reading “You decide: mind candy or good teaching?”

Lovely Mind Candy: The problem isn’t that life is unfair – it’s your broken idea of fairness

If-life-was-fair-2Article is by Oliver Emberton

Unless you’re winning, most of life will seem hideously unfair to you.

he truth is, life is just playing by different rules.

The real rules are there. They actually make sense. But they’re a bit more complicated, and a lot less comfortable, which is why most people never manage to learn them.

Let’s try.

Rule #1: Life is a competition

Your life is a mess. can you clean it up with consciousness?

challengedI was talking about the wrong turns one makes in life; you make them several times a day…

To the mind, choosing between two options, and getting yourself into a horrible dead end is no big deal. Easy as pie…

Getting your out of it: for the mind it is impossible.

Let me say that again: for the mind, getting itself out of the mess it got you into, is impossible. Not hard… impossible.

So I have been testing Consciousness in the same arena.

False starts, crushed dreams… if that’s your life… listen up

False starts, crushed dreams… if that’s your life… listen up
2722241211_22435b9bc0The allure to jump into doing is very strong. Or alternatively waiting… and doing nothing.

But “They” say: without action nothing happens. Some say: take lots of action, imperfect actions.

But no one is talking about looking, no one is talking about conscious awareness.

Conscious awareness is what separates a human from an animal. Continue reading “False starts, crushed dreams… if that’s your life… listen up”

The path to the life you want to live is distinctions.

The path to the life you want to live is distinctions.

Heros-JourneyI know, I know, I am riding this distinction horse… and no one is getting on it with me.

But, don’t you think that you resisting it, or your genes resisting it… it is kind of telling?

Telling of what, Sophie?

That getting the distinction of distinction… looking at life through distinctions makes you as close to being a master of life as any human can ever get!? And that you are living in the “no mastery” zone… waiting for a miracle?

I have never done anything as smart as deciding to use the 67 step program as the structure inside which I coach people.

Why? Because Tai is doing the hard work. Every video works on one or two distinctions. If you get it as distinction: your life will start to move. If you get it as example… your life will remain stuck.

Osho on the pathless path to enlightenment

Osho on the pathless path to enlightenment

THE ANCIENTS SAID:

“(SELF-)CULTIVATION TAKES AN UNIMAGINABLE TIME (WHILE) ENLIGHTENMENT IN AN INSTANT IS ATTAINED.”

IF THE TRAINING IS EFFICIENT, ENLIGHTENMENT WILL BE ATTAINED IN ONE FINGERSNAP.

IN DAYS GONE BY CH’AN MASTER HUI CHUEH OF LANG YEH MOUNTAIN, HAD A DISCIPLE WHO CALLED ON HIM FOR INSTRUCTION. THE MASTER TAUGHT HER TO EXAMINE INTO THE SENTENCE: “TAKE NO NOTICE.”

SHE FOLLOWED HIS INSTRUCTION STRICTLY WITHOUT BACKSLIDING.

ONE DAY HER HOUSE CAUGHT FIRE, BUT SHE SAID: “TAKE NO NOTICE.”

ANOTHER DAY, HER SON FELL INTO THE WATER AND WHEN A BYSTANDER CALLED HER, SHE SAID: “TAKE NO NOTICE.”

SHE OBSERVED EXACTLY HER MASTER’S INSTRUCTION BY LAYING DOWN ALL CASUAL THOUGHTS.

Food Allergy versus food intolerance

contact dermatitisI have been suffering from intense acid reflux for the past three weeks.

My chiropractor “adjusted” the esophageal sphincter now twice, but no improvement.

Then I recalled the Billionaire video by Joel Wallach… and my blood went cold.

What if it is “contact dermatitis” in my esophagus?

Dr. Wallach talks about the difference between food allergies and food intolerance.

I have distinguished that I have a food intolerance to sugar, especially fructose.
I have also read, in the blood type diet that I should not eat peanuts and chicken… but I never understood why.

Do you have an integrated life or a bunch of things you do?

integrated-lifeOne step in the 67 step program is to look what area of life isn’t integrated into your life… At first I could not think of anything, but then I had an insight: I started to look at what doesn’t get done… and I saw that anything that is not integrated into my life… doesn’t get done… or if it is, it’s a chore, drudgery.

cleaning, throwing stuff away, etc.

Why? Because your life has a purpose, probably hidden from your view. And that is your life, the life you want. The life you consider life, living… And everything else is death…

So before you integrate anything into your life, you need to be clear what your life is about.

If it is about doing what you want when you want it, then you’ll end up with a few minutes a day, at best, or life, and everything else is drudgery.

If your life is about pleasure: maybe a few more minutes, but the rest of it is drudgery, death.

My life is about causing humanity’s evolution to human being level: my work. My life, luckily, includes sleep as well. And brushing my teeth. And buying grocery, eating, reading, going to the chiropractor.

Frustration… or pushing on a string

bang head hereMy dominant emotion is frustration.

Of course frustration lacks humility… frustration is when you are trying to force your will on reality.

things take as long as they do, people do whatever they do, and you’ll screw up, like everybody else.

But, of course, my soul correction is Forget Thyself… meaning allow life to unfold.

That, allowing anything, is the hardest thing for a human… And allowing and yet feeling powerful is even rarer.

We want to make things happen, rush things along, push, pull… and yell in frustration.
