The expression reflects the experience when you get too much, what you haven’t deserved, and you feel shame and hatred, because you feel best when you give… even though on the surface you get more pleasure from receiving. But the dual nature of the soul wants you to keep the getting and giving in balance.
It is ultimately a perpetration/withhold dynamic resulting in lots of anger and hate.
My mama’s boy students ultimately hate their mother…
