What makes you who you are today?

The obvious answers are that it is your past that makes you who you are. What happened to you. What was your education, your upbringing, your genes, your environment.

And all that seems to make you who you are today, and if you are anything like the people I deal with, day in and day out, you are not happy with who you are, how you are.

Why? How you are doesn’t get you the life you have always wanted, the accomplishments, the joy, the intimacy, the love, the care you wanted.

Is how you are really who you are? No, not at all. Nobody is. Or nobody is fully authentic.

You are is put together, while who you are is diligently covered up. Continue reading “What makes you who you are today?”

Kabbalists say: the bible is code. They, of course, mean: the Old Testament, the 5 books of Moses

Kabbalists say: the bible is code. They, of course, mean: the Old Testament, the 5 books of Moses.

If the Bible is code, then it is not a story… or if there is a story there, it is itself code: meaning an illustration of a principle.

Egypt stands for slavery. Slavery to whatever people are a slave to: riches, significance, sex, entertainment, desire to receive for the self alone, their racket, the racket with which they extort goodies from others, justify their nastiness, their domination, their haplessness.

Extorting sympathy, or whatever they extort.

So what did Moses do with this bunch of slaves? Continue reading “Kabbalists say: the bible is code. They, of course, mean: the Old Testament, the 5 books of Moses”

What is the difference between ‘I am’ and ‘I have been’?

What is the difference between ‘I am’ and ‘I have been’? They both create yourself… but which is the right you?

I wrote this article almost two years ago, and suddenly it became as current as anything…

It is a great companion piece to my article for today: Continue reading “What is the difference between ‘I am’ and ‘I have been’?”

Who, what should be your teacher for life?

compare monkeys and homo sapiensWho should be your teachers? What should be your teachers?

And why do you need teachers?

Everyone thinks they should know more, have more. Be right more. Look better more often. Have more liberty, more stuff, less annoying stuff.

But no one teaches you how to let go, how to become free… again.

Let go? Hell yeah.

Most soul corrections, in fact the whole of humanity, with rare exceptions, spend their lifetime compensating for some inane incident that a more intelligent species would have shaken off… no big deal.

But not the Bandar-log, the just out of the monkey evolutionary phase homo sapiens… no, they are not intelligent enough. Even monkeys are more intelligent… don’t be offended, I’ll explain.

No, homo sapiens finds its excuse for not becoming all they can be, for abusing themselves and others, in their rear view mirrors.

Where they see abuse, slights, no power, injustice, embarrassment, fear, hurt, powerlessness, no acceptance, what have you… and… Continue reading “Who, what should be your teacher for life?”

Are you a user of the Big Bundle of energies?

OK, a new challenge is presenting itself: a bunch of people have bought the Big Bundle… and as usual, they don’t pay attention, they think that however they will use it will be OK.

Surprise: how you do anything is how you do everything, and if it had worked, you wouldn’t be here now… Would you? You would be out there enjoying your life.

So it is time to learn something new, you have NEVER considered doing before: do things the way they are supposed to be done.

One of the main and fundamental issues with Homo Sapiens is their immense arrogance.

Don’t be stupid… Please. Continue reading “Are you a user of the Big Bundle of energies?”

Brain health, brain power, brain usage…

for those who use it well, much more will be givenBrain health, brain power, brain usage… how does it relate to your mood about your life? to the size of your life, to your happiness and fulfillment?

I am on the mend. It feels weird…

All my life I wanted to get sympathy for poor me… because I didn’t think I deserved anything more.

And I am noticing that I want to complain, that I am afraid that if I tell you I am getting well, you won’t want to give me anything… not business, not love, not anything. Weird. A strong pull. Continue reading “Brain health, brain power, brain usage…”

Change is the end result of all true learning ~ Leo Buscaglia

change is the result of true learningChange is the end result of all true learning ~ Leo Buscaglia

I found this site, Quotation Celebration, by accident.

And, unusual for me, I signed up to the notification list.

This quote came in today’s email.

It is the perfect quote for where my students are at: unless there is a change, nothing has happened. You got some mind candy, some insights, maybe some new rules to resist, but it is all useless. Continue reading “Change is the end result of all true learning ~ Leo Buscaglia”

How to disappear all of your past… so you can have an empty future?

I was looking for good pictures to go with this topic, and I was struck to what degree people think that what they have as their past is what happened in the past.

100% of what happened, what you say happened, what you remember happened, actually didn’t happen. You only remember what you said about it… the meanings, the interpretations. Not what happened in reality.

Getting to see what is in reality, what was in reality, takes work, and a serious change in how you look.

This article will be most useful for my students, who have been doing that work for a long time, some of them as long as a full year…

So if what I am saying doesn’t make a lot of sense… consider that it should not… You don’t have the foundation, the skills, the capacities that only practice can give you… Real practice. Deliberate practice.

If you want the results my students are getting, you need to do the work my students are doing… in the Playground. Day in and day out… Continue reading “How to disappear all of your past… so you can have an empty future?”

What does it exactly mean? What do THEY exactly mean? What am I supposed to do exactly?

butter on breadWhen I write an article, when I give instructions, when I teach, what people do is as diverse as if I told them all different things… even though I said exactly the same thing. It could be my intonation: they were on the call at the same time, or read the same article, and yet.

You listen approximately, hear more of your commentary and interpretation than what is actually said, and then you follow your commentary, not what was said. And, to boot, you never actually take the time to understand what the words really mean. Your vocabulary is approximate… and you may not even know it.

I have been telling my Playground student to retell their life incidents in movie mode, so they can see what actually happened, without their feelings, without their interpretation, without their meaning, without the drama, without they remember… just the facts… on a movie. Continue reading “What does it exactly mean? What do THEY exactly mean? What am I supposed to do exactly?”

Want to get rid of Procrastination? I would if I were you…

It’s really hot here. I don’t use air conditioning, and I don’t sweat. So I am really hot. And I am still digesting a lot of things… and it’s not a good idea to write about half baked stuff… or not often.

I don’t feel like writing. But I feel like telling you something, so I whipped out my headset and made an audio… a podcast if you will.

I learned this method from MY mentor, Robert Plank… you can talk a lot faster than you can write… and it gets you over the hump…

It was inspired by this article and this TED talk.

and below is the article:

Procrastination isn’t shameful or a character flaw. Instead it’s rooted in a very human need: the need to feel competent and worthy, says Continue reading “Want to get rid of Procrastination? I would if I were you…”
