Can you see without words? Can you love without words?

without word there is no humanHow deep does the rabbit hole go?

Helen Keller didn’t become human until she could connect things in reality with words. Does this mean that Adam and Eve weren’t human until they began naming the flora and the fauna of the garden? Yes.

Humanness is to put word between the thing and conscious awareness…

There is this popular conundrum. What was first, the chicken or the egg? Continue reading “Can you see without words? Can you love without words?”

How many people it takes to turn H.Sapiens into Human Being?

turn homo sapiens into human beingThe title sounds like the beginning of a a joke, like how many philosophers does it need to change a lightbulb?

Four; one to change the light-bulb and three to say ‘Yes, Socrates,’ ‘Well done, Socrates,’ ‘Good job, Socrates.’ Funny as hell… but not exactly what I wanted to do… although that joke talks to me deeper than it probably talks to you.

But I digress…

This morning I stumbled on a page from Dan Millman’s ‘The Life You Were Born To Live‘ a quasi Kabbalistic astrology book.

I have always disliked it, but today I came to hate it. Continue reading “How many people it takes to turn H.Sapiens into Human Being?”

If you get successful you’ll have to give back? Why? What?

the commandment to giveI used to know this guy, a chiropractor, who had a son with a wife he divorced.

He charged little for his sessions, made all his money in cash, all to avoid paying child support. He could not stand the idea that much of his work went to his ex wife.

When the boy was 16, he came to live with his father… and miracle of miracles, the father started to look how to get rich, how to make more money.

If you are successful you have to give back? Why? What? How?

He preferred to have nothing to having something to give…

Turning points: You are not really stuck where you are.

turning point choicesAs I promised, I am continuing the discussion about powerlessness… the sense, the feeling, the belief of powerlessness.

This sudden awareness was helped along by Alex Hormozi’s video the other day. He talks, no, he rails against what makes you weak and fragile.

Watch it and learn. Get knocked conscious of what you are doing to yourself!

You may want to listen to it with slower speed… Alex talks really fast!

Now you see why I am in love with Alex… I want to be like him when I grow up! lol. Continue reading “Turning points: You are not really stuck where you are.”

I have something to say in the matter. But what do I say?

I have something to say in the matter… but what can I say?

Back in 1986 it was revolutionary. Closed circuit TV across the world.

Werner Erhard had his Saturday seminars. I lived in New Jersey at the time, but the audience was in many cities in the US, in Australia, and maybe in Europe…

I was green and my ‘est’ vocabulary was non-existent, so I probably only got 1% of what was available, but I did get something.

In one of the sessions Werner set up the question: I have something to say in the matter… and what the matter was I don’t remember, but I suspect, that he was doing what I am doing with my DNA adjusted students: Continue reading “I have something to say in the matter. But what do I say?”

Can you pinpoint your attitude with 100% certainty?

what is your attitude? How do you know, how can you tell what is your attitude?

I have always wondered where good acting comes from… acting that almost no American actor does well… almost, I said.

But where do the attitudes that give the foundation of a scene originate.

But this morning I got really lucky. I saw a few interviews with Larry Thomas who played the Soup Nazi in Seinfeld. Continue reading “Can you pinpoint your attitude with 100% certainty?”

How I learn and other stories you can learn from

Money is better than poverty, if only for financial reasons. ~ Woody Allen

When I first came to the United States in late September of 1985, my trip was paid by a lawyer somewhere on the Palisades of NJ. I asked his secretary to type up my resume. She did it, on a computer.

There was something I wanted to change, so I asked for permission to go to the office and change that thing over the weekend. Continue reading “How I learn and other stories you can learn from”

What will it take to become a human being aka a Mensch?

human being aka MenschWhere is the value in a workshop, or a consulting call? What are you really taking home? Where is the value in my paid podcast: the recording of my private conversations with selected individuals?

I am looking for that myself, I am looking for that for you… to identify what is the value.

As an aside: seeing value is surprisingly a gene… a capacity, that is on, meaning active only for about one percent of humanity.

Some genes need other genes active to stay on… I think foresight needs the seeing value capacity to be able to stay on. Continue reading “What will it take to become a human being aka a Mensch?”

How is the human DNA is like a Christmas tree

activate dna capacitiesThe Human DNA is like a Christmas tree

It has lots of light on, the active genes, and even more lights off, the inactive genes.

Some genes are supposed to turn off at a certain level of individual development, others are supposed to turn on, but most genes need to be needed by the person’s activity to turn on or even to stay on.

A light on is a human capacity that is active. It signifies that the organism considers it worthwhile and needed to keep it on… Because it produces a benefit commensurate with the energy expenditure the body needs to put out to keep it on.

A light off is a human capacity that is not active. Continue reading “How is the human DNA is like a Christmas tree”

If you want to make a difference you have to start with…

One person. Yup. One person. If you can’t make a difference for one person, then you seriously need to overhaul your entire operation, meaning your whole life… and start observing what it is about you and how you do it that leaves people … hm… (note: read the PS about this… please.)

So let’s look at what it means to make a difference, shall we?

I don’t know it exactly either, so we’ll look together. Willing?

OK, it came from Werner Erhard. Continue reading “If you want to make a difference you have to start with…”
