You need to understand why it is the way it is to change it

You need to understand why it is the way it is to change it

This article will be mostly about reading. Specifically why reading doesn’t fulfill its purpose with you…

Remember when I asked you if your life was empty? a week or so ago…

Well, when nothing is actually happening in your life, it feels empty. Continue reading “You need to understand why it is the way it is to change it”

How do you measure success?

How do you measure success?

Some people who blog like me measure their success by how many people open their articles, how many ‘read’ them, how many ‘clap’ for them.

For me those are not the numbers I am interested to know.

I want to know how many people actually BENEFIT from what I write, from what I teach, from what I create. and I want to increase that number.

It’s a harder number to know, because

1. People lie

People lie to themselves, and then they lie to me… they (I just learned this expression) virtue-signal… they want to look good, they want to look important to me, they want to get the praise, the applause, whatever.

They are NEEDY.

2. People think that all they have to do is buy the darned thing… . Continue reading “How do you measure success?”

Whenever there is a gap between your habits and your goals, your habits will always win.

Whenever there is a gap between your habits and your goals, your habits will always win.

If you ever wondered why you haven’t been accomplishing as much as you intend, wish, desire to accomplish, that quote should be your guide: Whenever there is a gap between your habits and your goals, your habits will always win.

What habits are we talking about? Interestingly, here, we are mostly interested in the how, instead of the what habits.

I have students who seemingly do the right things… but their results fall way behind what the effort would suggest.

The reason is in the how… Continue reading “Whenever there is a gap between your habits and your goals, your habits will always win.”

What does a Hungarian joke have to do with your life script?

What does a Hungarian joke have to do with your life script?
Teacher: list five African animals
Morris: two tigers and three elephants

There are a few jokes that I brought with myself from Hungary… that describe the human condition very well.

One of them is an elementary school joke:

Morris is asked to say the multiplication table… with 8.

He starts to chant… lalala-lala lalala… lalala lala lalala…

What is this? Asks the stunned teacher? Oh, I remember the tune, but can’t recall the words… answers Morris.

Several of my students, maybe all, got stuck in an early childhood age, resulting from a decision to fix a traumatic incident. Continue reading “What does a Hungarian joke have to do with your life script?”

Are you attracting or are you repelling? That is the question…

Are you attracting or are you repelling? That is the question…

Why is it that most people, you,  who believe in the Law of Attraction actually practice how to repel people and repel what you want?

99% of all people believe in the law of attraction… or some version of it…

People write to me all the time, asking me for something. They want something for nothing. Obviously they are adherents of the Law of Attraction: the law seems to be saying to the: you can attract to yourself things you want by just wanting them. Ask and it is given… or something of that sort. Or if you really desire it… blah blah blah.

I have a few secrets for you: the world doesn’t operate that way. In fact, the world operates closer to what Charlie Munger says: If you want to get what you want, you need to deserve what you want. Continue reading “Are you attracting or are you repelling? That is the question…”

If you saw that, your life would change to the better?

If you saw that, your life would change to the better?
One sign of low intelligence  is thinking that you see everything that is relevant.

And when someone shows you something new: that doesn’t change your thinking… you think: now I really see everything. I even catch this last one myself… although not as frequently as I used to…

from Quora: Most low IQ people tend to almost be Fundamentalists and take things very literally due to lack of imagination, intuition, open-mindedness, cognitive flexibility, comprehension, critical thinking and are always relying on very direct impressions because of the lacking of depth in their thoughts and understanding of things.

It’s normal to think that you see everything but normal is also stupid. Because a person who thinks that doesn’t even look. And definitely won’t look differently… Won’t ask different questions. Will be more interested in what they have to say than what others have to say. Continue reading “If you saw that, your life would change to the better?”

What can you see and hear in the sideways view?

What can you see and hear in the sideways view?
little red riding hoodEven if you have the driftwood capacity activated… Even then you have to learn to be looking that way.

Yesterday’s article about assumptions should clue you in: you mostly are stuck with your assumption: you have never really looked and seen the facts… Reality defined in the simplest way: reality is facts.

It seems that to observe, to look, to look until you see something is not a low-vibration person’s activity, and most people ARE low vibration… so most people never look.

The ones that do are famous at least in what they do for a living.

Quentin Tarantino… Albert Einstein, Ayn Rand.

It really seems that this capacity to look and see is very rare. Continue reading “What can you see and hear in the sideways view?”

How to fall in love with yourself… and why

How to fall in love with yourself… and why
Why? Why would you want to love yourself?

When you love yourself: you love your life. And that is the closest we know to be a happy person.

And you want to be happy, right? It feels like your birthright. Even though I can’t specifically point at anyone who is happy… it IS your birthright. Continue reading “How to fall in love with yourself… and why”

What makes you who you are today?

What makes you who you are today?

The obvious answers are that it is your past that makes you who you are. What happened to you. What was your education, your upbringing, your genes, your environment.

And all that seems to make you who you are today, and if you are anything like the people I deal with, day in and day out, you are not happy with who you are, how you are.

Why? How you are doesn’t get you the life you have always wanted, the accomplishments, the joy, the intimacy, the love, the care you wanted.

Is how you are really who you are? No, not at all. Nobody is. Or nobody is fully authentic.

You are is put together, while who you are is diligently covered up. Continue reading “What makes you who you are today?”

What robs you of the ability to be astute?

What robs you of the ability to be astute?

Astute, astuteness has a bad reputation… so do the words: selling, ambitious… or taking care of yourself. But it is unjust, in fact it is against Life.

But, unfortunately, we live in an age where being selfless seems like a virtue… but it isn’t a virtue, it is imposed upon us.

It is stupid and a learned ‘value’…

The best people in the world are selfish…

Selfish… meaning: they take care of themselves… instead of hoping that others will be selfless and take care of them. And then they can contribute… from being well and being taken care of.

No matter how many times people understand, on airplanes, that when the oxygen masks are dropped at them, they should put on their own first… and then assist others… Because they see it there, but the ability to see it everywhere would require a wider cone of vision than they have… Take care of yourself first doesn’t live like a distinction, it lives as an example that is true on airplanes. Continue reading “What robs you of the ability to be astute?”
