Principle guided life… but what principles?

Principle guided life… but what principles?

When I wrote the article about racial, ancestral identity and its importance, I touched on something that is not valuable for most people… because I didn’t go deep enough and I didn’t accurately identify what it takes to be proud of who you are, where you belong.

I got on the phone with one of the people who was very unhappy about that article… I was eager to talk, because it is near impossible to go beyond the visible by yourself. It is a whole lot easier when you get input… because what is invisible to you can be visible for another.

The conversation was fruitful… And the insight to me was: it is not virtues, it is principles that form the basis of a happy life… I will elaborate…

40% of humanity never learns. But why? They are not stupid

40% of humanity never learns. But why? They are not stupid

don't get stuck on a pageI have some students who are not keeping up with the other students. These students don’t learn. So much so, that after a whole year, they are still at page 1 or page 2 of a class… that is 100 pages… Of course there are no pages… but pages express more what I want to say than percentages.

It is the middle of the night: I got up to write this article, because I got the insight that has been missing. Continue reading “40% of humanity never learns. But why? They are not stupid”

What is your time worth? What does it have to do with your worth?

what is your time worth? do you value your time?If you are in business… or even if you are only selling your time/work at a job or freelancing, pricing your merchandise, friendship, advice, companionship, your time, your service is going to be something worth looking at.

A few decades ago I published a magazine. The magazine was free, the income came from advertising.

A girl whom I knew from before, who worked at the same architect’s office I worked, called me and asked if she could trade cleaning my office for advertising. Turns out she was turning tricks…

She came to the office, worked for an hour and expected it to cover the price of a quarter page ad, $200 at the time.

Why? Because that is what she got paid by her johns. lol Continue reading “What is your time worth? What does it have to do with your worth?”

Is desire really the Everyman’s Superpower?

Is desire really the Everyman’s Superpower?

I don’t remember why, but I signed up to Simpleology, Mark Joyner’s program. 1

He created a new comic strip, the everyman’s superpower, and, of course, sold it with the same thing he advocates in the comic strip: whipping up your desire to a feverish pitch. Continue reading “Is desire really the Everyman’s Superpower?”

How old is your body? Your biological age…

I had my usual Sunday call today… and the issue of how old is your body came up. My friend’s body is 90 years old… and though I am only four or five yours younger, my body checks as a 50 year old…

As I have shared before, some time in the beginning of August I realized that I was dying.

It had been a process that started a year earlier… with some dramatic happenings, including falling and breaking my left arm. It wasn’t the cause: it was a symptom. And by this August the future was obvious: I had a short time to live, with very restricted movement…

I have no health insurance, I trust in no doctors, I have no savings, I have no family to bail me out.

I had a choice to make: to live or not to live.

Life is an experiment. Unless you live in the binary world

Life is an experiment. Unless you live in the binary world

magic lampLife is an experiment. Unless you only have good and bad, successful or failure in your vocabulary

An experiment is always successful. It is successful at showing what it shows. Whether you interpret accurately what it shows or not… it is up to you. And then what you do with what it suggests is also up to you…

Do not be timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment.‘ (Ralph Waldo Emerson) Continue reading “Life is an experiment. Unless you live in the binary world”

The invisible tail that wags the dog… The human condition

The invisible tail that wags the dog… The human condition

The invisible tail that wags the dog… 1 Or what is invisible to you is behind and underneath your emotions, your actions, your desires…

It’s invisible for the dog and it is invisible or misidentified for the observer…

And, of course I am talking about humans… but found no quote that talks about humans in this context. Though the treasure trove of information about dogs, and foxes and their tails is very entertaining, I can say with some certainty, that humans know dogs and foxes better than themselves.

That includes you and me. Continue reading “The invisible tail that wags the dog… The human condition”

Sometimes the only way for you to notice what a pr*ck you have been, is to change your ways and look back

invisilble fieldSometimes the only way for you to notice what a prick you have been, is to change your ways and look back.

As I am on the mend, I now have gone outside to walk a little bit to move the fluids inside, the blood, and the lymphatic system. If there are more… I don’t know about them. 1

So my constitutional is to make the fluids move… I don’t have energy for a lot of walk, about a quarter of a mile is what I CAN walk now… I used to be able to walk for hours.

There is a woman whom I met a number of years ago. She lives about 8 doors downhill from me. I first met her on a September Sunday, she was participating in an Art trail… that happens in Syracuse, where I live, every year about this time of the year. It sounds a lot like science fiction… hey, it is science, but not fiction…

My Sunday calls

Here is a sentence that will cement your view of me as an arrogant b-i-t-c-h, or will make you curious, if you haven’t thought that I was an arrogant b-i-t-c-h…

If you don’t listen to my Sunday calls, then you are a lazy, good for nothing, slacker… lol Oh, you have known that? I apologize, I thought I was telling you something new.

But all kidding aside, my Sunday calls are the single most interesting thing I sell… to the right people… people who are ready. The one-percenters… Continue reading “It sounds a lot like science fiction… hey, it is science, but not fiction…”

Powerful Debriefing: How to be a winner regardless

Powerful Debriefing: How to be a winner regardless

One of the major differences between winners and losers: winners have the ability to look at reality, and look long enough so all the filters get revealed and they actually see things for what they are.

Another difference between winners and losers is that winners love setbacks, love failures, maybe even more than success. Losers love success and HATE failures, or setbacks. Continue reading “Powerful Debriefing: How to be a winner regardless”
