How many people it takes to turn H.Sapiens into Human Being?

How many people it takes to turn H.Sapiens into Human Being?

turn homo sapiens into human beingThe title sounds like the beginning of a a joke, like how many philosophers does it need to change a lightbulb?

Four; one to change the light-bulb and three to say ‘Yes, Socrates,’ ‘Well done, Socrates,’ ‘Good job, Socrates.’ Funny as hell… but not exactly what I wanted to do… although that joke talks to me deeper than it probably talks to you.

But I digress…

This morning I stumbled on a page from Dan Millman’s ‘The Life You Were Born To Live‘ a quasi Kabbalistic astrology book.

I have always disliked it, but today I came to hate it. Continue reading “How many people it takes to turn H.Sapiens into Human Being?”

Is it disappointed or frustrated? What is the difference?

Is it disappointed or frustrated? What is the difference?
Clarity of language reflects your clarity of thinking…

It is becoming clear that the parts that maybe are the most important ones (to you) in my articles are too new for you to hear.

I didn’t realize that I need to bring special attention to them, explain them, or they will be lost, maybe forever. And give me an unwelcome experience: frustration.

This is a great opportunity to bring some clarity to the use of two words that you, mistakenly, have been taking ans synonyms… meaning the same. They don’t.

The two words are disappointment and frustration.

They feel similar, yes, but the underlying cause is different. Continue reading “Is it disappointed or frustrated? What is the difference?”

My amazon best seller is now out and is a best seller

My amazon best seller is now out and is a best seller
amazon best sellerMy amazon best seller is out.

The book I co-authored. I paid a thousand bucks to be part of that project.

First it was exciting. There was also fear, ‘am I good enough?’. Then a whole month where my attention was stolen by the topic of the book (The Entrepreneur Code) and every article I wrote, every conversation went to the topic… entrepreneurship.

Then I wrote six different article-length chapters, and discarded them all. Continue reading “My amazon best seller is now out and is a best seller”

If you had access to a portkey, where would you want to go?

If you had access to a portkey, where would you want to go?

A portkey is a magical transportation device. You ask it to take you somewhere.

In essence the question in the title asks:

What do you want for yourself?

I don’t know who said it, maybe Aristotle, that asking questions is smart, having answers is no so much.

And even if those questions aren’t yours, you didn’t make them up, asking questions is still very smart.

In yesterday’s Inner Authority final session we were working with ‘the questions’ I gave all of my readers and not readers.

Turns out that questions, doing something that is smart is not the favorite activity of my ‘students’, I only heard back from three people who actually did it. The rest dabbled at best.

I have some really resistant people to smartness… That may be my claim to fame? Ugh.

Are humans powerless against their base nature?

Are humans powerless against their base nature?

powerless in the face of pleasure seeking prisonThe most common human experience is powerlessness… Powerless in the face of outside and inside forces…

Humans are a weird animal. They consider themselves smart… but smart people don’t act like victims. They are proud of their big brains… but don’t use it.

The dividing line between being a lower species and a higher species is the ability to take responsibility for one’s actions, for one’s life.

But responsibility is an inner dialog…using that big brain to actually get some clarity about what that lower species self is doing, has done, is planning, so one can take over and drive that life of yours. Continue reading “Are humans powerless against their base nature?”

Politically incorrect or are you working with what is yours?

Politically incorrect or are you working with what is yours?

politically incorrect hair envyAre you working with what is yours? Or are you vying for what others have?

Politically correct… politically incorrect

These are expressions that people use but have no idea what they mean.

Do not be naive: language and the lack of clarity of what words mean is one of the ways people are kept from becoming powerful.

So let’s consider ‘political’ everything that is about keeping the power in the hands of the few, and the masses in a state where they are sheep but they think they are powerful. Like once every four years they can exercise their immense power to say which bozo will be president.

They have no say in pretty much anything else, or not really. They could vote with their wallets, but they don’t. Continue reading “Politically incorrect or are you working with what is yours?”

I am not good enough. Other people are better than me

I am not good enough. Other people are better than me

This was people’s sentence, predominantly, when I first did my Landmark Education programs, back in mid-1980’s.

I remember asking myself: in what aren’t they good enough? Compared to what?

I could see that they don’t ask those questions… It is a 3-year old, barely able to speak, who says those things.

The language of the ‘sentence’, sentence as in ‘you are sentenced to lifetime imprisonment without parole’ was made up by your 3-year old… And the problem is in the language on the intellectual level of a 3-year old.

Not good enough, if your child genes turned off when they were supposed to turn off, is a great guidance. It tells you where you need work, where you need to grow, where you need to get better.

But that is an adult speaking… Not a child. An adult who can look and see… Continue reading “I am not good enough. Other people are better than me”

Are you stuck on the binary level of thinking? Let’s look

Are you stuck on the binary level of thinking? Let’s look

binary thinkingMost people, 99% of the time, are stuck on the systemic judgment level… where everything has an opposite, and it is either one or the other.

Binary thinking. What is Binary Thinking? Binary thinking, also known as dichotomous thinking, happens when even complex concepts, ideas, and problems are overly simplified into being one side or another. The gray area in the middle is ignored or goes unnoticed. Binary thinking helps us feel a sense of certainty.

Another way of looking: reality is 3d… Your thinking is binary… No match. No astuteness. No correct actions possible. Continue reading “Are you stuck on the binary level of thinking? Let’s look”

Is ego physical? Energetic? Spiritual? Woowoo? WTF is ego?

Is ego physical? Energetic? Spiritual? Woowoo? WTF is ego?

egoI spent the last two hours working on the page that explains what the starting point measurement numbers mean about you.

And, almost predictably, today’s Monday Morning Memo by Roy H. Williams addresses some of those. No coincidences in the world… if you have a wide enough cone of vision you’ll know that.

Yesterday, Sunday I spent 90 minutes on my Sunday call with Mike, a dude who is about as different from me as a person can get, politically, spiritually, intellectually, in every way.

It got really bad during the Trump administration… and hadn’t I managed to change myself, it would be really bad now.

I am neither liberal nor conservative. I care about everyone… but I am not into giving favors to anyone. Neither the needy nor the greedy. About 10% of the USA population is like me… Caught in the middle. Continue reading “Is ego physical? Energetic? Spiritual? Woowoo? WTF is ego?”

The hamster method to win. It makes you a winner

The hamster method to win. It makes you a winner

Do you want to be a winner? or you prefer winning every argument, every task, everything? Both? OK. Use winner and winning like two walls the hamster uses to climb to the top.

With it, in no time you’ll become someone who wins consistently, and a winner

When I was in my last two years in high school, I did all my school work between 11 pm and 4 am. I got up when my parents went to bed, and the house got quiet.

The King David method… by the way. The way King David lived and worked.

My brother had a hamster… Continue reading “The hamster method to win. It makes you a winner”
