Why, how, and what do I procrastinate on?

Why, how, and what do I procrastinate on?

There are some things that I can do, I can do well, but every time I am paid to do it, I procrastinate. Why? Because it is wicked hard.

What is the difficulty?

You’ll laugh, but the difficulty is staying with the activity.

The task is energy transmission.

Unless you stay with it, the energy doesn’t flow. You direct the energy with your empty mind, and in my case: my breath. Continue reading “Why, how, and what do I procrastinate on?”

Your attention span is a reliable indicator of how well you’ll do in life

If you are not where you want to be, one possible way you can improve your lot is by increasing your attention span.

Most people have a lot of aspects to their behavior and thinking that are at odds with being happy, successful, joyful people.

A whole lot. I measure most in my Starting Point Measurements.

So the natural inclination is to declare it hopeless. And the second natural inclination is to want to handle it all at once.

This is when people spend a lot of money in one sitting… and then don’t know what to do with them.

And some people, the rare specimen, who asks: how should I start? What shall I do first? Continue reading “Increase this number and all other numbers will rise with it”

You need to understand why it is the way it is to change it

You need to understand why it is the way it is to change it

This article will be mostly about reading. Specifically why reading doesn’t fulfill its purpose with you…

Remember when I asked you if your life was empty? a week or so ago…

Well, when nothing is actually happening in your life, it feels empty. Continue reading “You need to understand why it is the way it is to change it”

Can you direct your attention by your thoughts?

Can you direct your attention by your thoughts?

Where attention goes, energy flows… but can you direct your attention by your thoughts?

I’ve read somewhere that we live in the age of attention. Everyone fights for your attention, and you have little or no control… unless you can control your attention.

How much control do you have over your attention?

Why is that important?

Two reasons:

  • 1. where attention goes, energy flows. But… as you’ll find out, not all attention is equal…
  • 2. While you are ‘paying’ attention to one thing, you are ignoring everything else.
Attention is a single pointed arrow… it is not very wide cone either.
  • Your cone of vision is already narrow… why? Because fear, wrong, desire all narrow it… automatically.
  • Fear, wrong, and desire also urges you to fix what seems to be threatening you… by avoiding it, or by doing something drastic to it.

What happens when you see something that seems to be threatening you? Essentially what happens is that you take that ‘thing’ completely out of context… because in your puny cone of vision you cannot see the larger picture, you cannot see the context.

Context is decisive. It decides what you see when you look… You can only see what agrees with the context.

What is your time worth? What does it have to do with your worth?

what is your time worth? do you value your time?If you are in business… or even if you are only selling your time/work at a job or freelancing, pricing your merchandise, friendship, advice, companionship, your time, your service is going to be something worth looking at.

A few decades ago I published a magazine. The magazine was free, the income came from advertising.

A girl whom I knew from before, who worked at the same architect’s office I worked, called me and asked if she could trade cleaning my office for advertising. Turns out she was turning tricks…

She came to the office, worked for an hour and expected it to cover the price of a quarter page ad, $200 at the time.

Why? Because that is what she got paid by her johns. lol Continue reading “What is your time worth? What does it have to do with your worth?”

Want to become competent in life? Competence is rare…

Want to become competent in life? Competence is rare…

I watched, mostly listened to the ‘masterclass’ selling Eric Edmeades’ Wildfit course.

The truth value of what Eric Edmeades said was 30%. There was nothing in it that was untrue… it just cannot go higher when you have a product for mass consumption, a one size fit all product.

Eric Edmeades’ vibration is 200.

As in every masterclass, he was having a conversation with Vishen Lakhiani, who looks fabulous, but is insufferable, for the most part. His vibration is 150. Continue reading “Want to become competent in life? Competence is rare…”

How present are you? the common notion and the reality of being present

There is a video at the end of this post to test how present you are…

When I tell people to be present, or to get out of their mind, they understand it this way:

Be present to everything around you. The beauty, the ugliness, the sun, the wind, people.

Or alternatively, while doing guided meditation, pay attention to what the guide, the leader of the meditation tells you to pay attention to, your breathing, relaxing, whatever.

This type of notion seems to make it wrong when you are paying attention to what you are doing, thinking (as in problem solving), etc. Because you are present to one thing and one thing only.

Give up liberties so you can have true freedom…

Give up liberties so you can have true freedom…

Give up liberties so you can have true freedom… or how fighting the strings on your puppet self create a life of unhappiness

Do you ever wonder why in spite of all your good qualities, nice acts, maybe even achievements, your vibration is low, maybe even very low?

Everyone hopes that their good acts redeem bad acts, but when we look at vibration: this is not what we find. Continue reading “Give up liberties so you can have true freedom…”

Floundering? Don’t know why nothing seems to work?

Floundering? Don’t know why nothing seems to work?

Floundering? Can’t seem to get from A to B? Don’t know why nothing seems to work?

Maybe you feel clueless? Maybe you feel left behind?

Here is MY clueless story…

I have been asking questions more than normal.

In the past seven years, my site’s readership WAS steadily growing… until a month or two ago when it dropped to approximately half of what it was at that point.

It didn’t, or better English, hasn’t effected my income, but it looked troubling enough to start asking questions.

The pull to ask why questions is tremendous… Why me, why now, why people don’t like me?

Meh… But what other questions can I ask?

Now, that is a really useful question: what other questions can I ask? Continue reading “Floundering? Don’t know why nothing seems to work?”

When you are fixing something, the solution becomes the next, bigger problem

Human history has gone from problems to bigger problems throughout most of its 200 thousand years.

What is fixing?

Fixing needs something to be wrong. Wrong is a systemic judgment, cultural and personal. It is never true in reality… one could say: there is never anything wrong in reality.

Dying is not wrong, dying is dying. Being sick is not wrong, it is being sick. Being slow, ugly, lazy is not wrong, it is just being slow, ugly, or lazy.

This means that any and all fixing is working on something that doesn’t need fixing… so the fixing adds a new wrinkle to things that isn’t supposed to be there… the new wrinkle is not natural. It takes you further away from your natural state: joy, productivity, intelligence, wellness. Continue reading “When you are fixing something, the solution becomes the next, bigger problem”
