Mental toughness, your TLB… and desire traps

Mental toughness, your TLB… and desire traps

TLB is your Twitchy Little Bastard score. Mental toughness, AND high TLB is the difference between a reactive, undisciplined, five year old who cannot see past the next five minutes, and a person (whatever age) who can actually see and act conscious of the consequences of their action or inaction.

Tai Lopez calls these according to names of the Greek philosophies that reigned around the time of Seneca the Elder: the Stoics, and the Epicurians.

If you gobble up a cheese burger, you are an Epicurian who can’t see where eating that toxic stuff will leads you… fat, poor, sick, and wanting more.

If money burns a hole in your pocket… you are probably living the Epicurian lifestyle. You can’t stand not having your phone with you, ditto.

You dream of instant success, instant weight loss, instant love… you are an Epicurian… and a TLB 1. Continue reading “Mental toughness, your TLB… and desire traps”

Times are a-changing… are you prepared?

Times are a-changing… are you prepared?

Are you secure enough in who you are to look at things that are of no personal relevance to you?

That sounds like a ‘so what?’ question, but it isn’t.

You see, one of the most important measures in predicting your happiness and success in life is your cone of vision plus your about-me score.

Ultimately the two measures, combined, give me how much of all-knowledge you are willing and able to see… so you can navigate life, the economy, relationships, health, successfully.

The smaller the combined measure is, the less you are willing to see. Your reaction to it: ‘it doesn’t apply to me‘ and you just block it out. You don’t even entertain it for a moment. (I can see it in your 67-step reports clearly. Or in what articles you open… or not) Continue reading “Times are a-changing… are you prepared?”

Allow easy things to be easy. Smooth. Flowing.

Allow easy things to be easy. Smooth. Flowing.

Here is an identity, a life script I have been a slave to.

I am up against impossible odds… and yet I can win. Look a me! Look at me!

It’s both funny and tragic.

It was pointed out to me back 1987, but I wasn’t ready to get it.

I KNOW that if you look first, look at what is there to do, the layout, the situation, then the success is almost certain.

But where is the fun!? Screams the identity. Let’s make it hard and let’s win against impossible odds! Continue reading “Allow easy things to be easy. Smooth. Flowing.”

If you start in the middle, you’ll lose…

If you start in the middle, you’ll lose…

The most important thing that happened to you happened when you were around three years old. It was a decision that happened to you. Even though you made that decision, you are now a slave to it.

Until that first incident you were innocent. Unless you make that decision malleable, that decision you made about how life is, how you are, how it’s best to behave, nothing can change about you or your life.

I can pull your anchor to doom energetically, and yet… nothing changes. Because that decision is like a physical skeleton, a framework, that everything, all of your life is built on.

And however you are today, however you approach anything comes from that decision. Entirely.

How the world occurred to you then.

Your standards and ideals. Rulemaking. Wanting to win…

Your standards and ideals. Rulemaking. Wanting to win…

…every step of the way

Here are a few unexpected ways you keep yourself trapped in your misery:

1. You have a standard for everything and everyone but often not yourself.

How it should be, how it should go, what is right and what is wrong behavior, looks, everything.

You apply these standards to measure everything and everyone… and, of course, everything and everyone falls short… including yourself.

Standards are something that you invented, or alternatively bought into. You relate to them as if they were universal and mandatory for everyone…

It is all made up. There are no standards that survive reality: these are all made up reality, not binding to everyone, maybe not even to anyone. Continue reading “Your standards and ideals. Rulemaking. Wanting to win…”

We are destroying life on Earth… Unless…

We are destroying life on Earth… Unless…

Most of the things that are visible, you are not able to see.

It is like seeing the back of your head: you need a mirror to see it. A ‘talking mirror’, meaning: another person. An observer.

I have been reading this fantasy series by David Estes. Heromarked, soulmarked, fatemarked, whatevermarked… I like it, I just don’t remember the titles… sorry.

Anyway the idea may be nebulous: depending on how you look at it. If you look at it as nebulous, then for you it is.

This morning I had a realization that people don’t know what their lives should be about, they don’t have a meaning, they don’t have a purpose. Continue reading “We are destroying life on Earth… Unless…”

What is driving your life? Not satisfying? Now what?

What is driving your life? Not satisfying? Now what?
At any moment what you do, what you think, what you say either comes from the inside, your core, or the outside…

And depending on the source of the action, thought, you are either true to yourself, or true to something else.

There was a two-part episode of Doctor Who that I watched some years ago, the episode ‘Human Nature’. Watch it if you can. Continue reading “What is driving your life? Not satisfying? Now what?”

If you need encouragement to become X you’ll never be X

If you need encouragement to become X you’ll never be X
  • If you need encouragement to become X you’ll never be X
  • Work sets you free
  • If you need encouragement to become an entrepreneur you’ll never be an entrepreneur.

Context, of course, is decisive… Arbeit macht frei is true… but…

On the gates of hell, on the gates of Auschwitz, Dachau, Theresianstadt that principle feels like mockery. The slogan: Work sets you free through Crematorium number 3. Sob, sob. Weep, weep.

If you need a reason to work, then you’ll never do work.

Sometimes the truth leaks out, without you noticing it.

Sometimes the truth leaks out, without you noticing it.

One great way I have discovered to see the hidden aspects of people that I would not be able to see through my ability as an empath is to get on a video call, but not have my video turned on.

But ask the other to keep their video open.

It is amazing how people don’t experience being seen unless they see you.

I don’t do this often enough. But I should… because of what becomes observable. Continue reading “Sometimes the truth leaks out, without you noticing it.”

Your real self is impervious to attacks, and slights

Your real self is impervious to attacks, and slights

You have two selves. Everyone has two selves. One is your real self, impervious to attacks, slights.

‘That is not true’, you say. ‘I feel like I am attacked, I feel every slight is an attack on me.’

Yeah, this is all true what you say if you identify yourself with your precious I, the second self.

The precious I is an invented self, and it is the sum total of all your aspects.
