Your relationship to reality, your brain, and your life

Your relationship to reality, your brain, and your life

Reality has everything it has. And what it doesn’t have isn’t real. It isn’t part of reality. It’s added.

This is the hardest part of reality: understanding that speaking, the observer, populates reality with things that don’t belong, and then turns around and grieves the things it spoke as reality. And the truth.

All suffering comes from this speaking. Continue reading “Your relationship to reality, your brain, and your life”

Three stories about the rock blocking the road

Three stories about the rock blocking the road

I went to architecture school in 1966.

We were told, from the very beginning that we are taught where to find the knowledge, and not knowledge itself.

When you need it: you look it up. Or you know who to ask. Or you know how to figure it out.

I took that to heart.

I didn’t even learn the formulas for calculating the size of building elements… Instead I paid attention to how they came to that calculation so when I need the formula I can re-create it. Continue reading “Three stories about the rock blocking the road”

Information is like milk. It tends to go bad over time

Information is like milk. It tends to go bad over time

information is like milk... soured-milkInformation, knowledge, possibility, attitude, skill, capacity… they, all, in one way or another, are information. And they behave like milk. They go sour… useless… bad.

You may want to ask the question before you research, buy information, ask questions: ‘am I doing this just in case I’ll need it later or am I doing this because I need this to move forward right now.Continue reading “Information is like milk. It tends to go bad over time”

Why are no thinkers among the 8 billion, Warren Buffet too

Why are no thinkers among the 8 billion, Warren Buffet too

I am reading a thought provoking book… There it is again, the language distortion.

No, the book is triggering thinking about it, it triggered for me real thinking… not thoughts.

I stayed up three hours later than usual to have the time to think. Continue reading “Why are no thinkers among the 8 billion, Warren Buffet too”

It’s Tuesday… it’s garbage day on my street…

It’s Tuesday… it’s garbage day on my street…

It’s not communism or socialism that is the enemy of freedom and prosperity. It is authoritarian systems.

Authoritarianism=my way of the highway.

I have lived in socialism. People may be lazy there, but creativity, thinking differently, individuality, ability and productiveness is not penalized… Maybe Russia was different. I lived in Hungary.

At this point Hungary’s system is really kleptocracy… stealing power, stealing stuff, stealing rights, stealing freedoms. We are seeing that in the USA happening… I hear that they are copying Hungary, a tiny country in the middle of Europe.

But in authoritarian systems who is calling the shots are the freeloaders. The looters, the moochers, the people who want something for nothing. The enemies of thinking, the enemies of originality, the enemies of production. Continue reading “It’s Tuesday… it’s garbage day on my street…”

Embarrassment… and the difference between male and female

Embarrassment… and the difference between male and female

I watched Emma Thompson embarrassed in her new film, Leo Grande

And I cried. No. I sobbed.

Then left the screen where Leo’s character smiles, Emma laughs on my screen, so I can return to what made me cry.

So it’s next morning and I’ve noticed that I’d spent the past 13 hours somehow returned to innocence. Continue reading “Embarrassment… and the difference between male and female”

What can you do with what you don’t want, don’t agree with?

What can you do with what you don’t want, don’t agree with?

I am tired. The kind of tired that doesn’t want to budge from sleeping, or resting. It is not ordinary tired.

I have had it before.

It’s between my ears. Mental tiredness… I think. Continue reading “What can you do with what you don’t want, don’t agree with?”

What is Negativity? Prepare to be surprised…

What is Negativity? Prepare to be surprised…
What is negativity?

Most of us seem to know what it is, we feel it, some in their guts, some in their heart, but feel it, especially when other people are negative. When it’s within us, we feel despair, anxiety, worry, we have a sense of dread, or we are sad, nervous, stressed, hyper, manic, depressed, or just listless. We get sick from it. The fallacy of ‘the answer’, the fallacy of ‘the truth’

The fallacy of ‘the answer’, the fallacy of ‘the truth’

When you come from a fixed place, a fixed worldview, a fixed ‘IS’ then of course you are going to look for the answer… a fixed thing… that will match what your worldview is, completely.

But unfortunately to you there is no ‘the right answer’, the perfect match… because everything in reality depends on everything else.

It is a lot like a jigsaw puzzle where each puzzle piece is a jigsaw puzzle itself. Continue reading “The fallacy of ‘the answer’, the fallacy of ‘the truth’”

What is the difference between an object and a person?

What is the difference between an object and a person?

Everybody resents being treated like an object… But the truth is: YOU consider yourself an object… by not using what would make you a person.

Are you a person automatically? No, you aren’t…

What is the difference, the ONLY difference between and object and a person?

We, most of all humans live as if we were an object in a world of objects.

And if I asked anyone, why, they wouldn’t know. My students, my teachers, philosophers, everyone. No one knows.

And if you don’t know something, if you can’t recognize it even if you trip over it, then, of course, you won’t use it, you won’t strengthen it, you won’t even want it. Continue reading “What is the difference between an object and a person?”
