Authenticity has been kicked around by many, but it doesn’t mean what you think it means.
Authenticity is telling on your shit, so you can remove it from yourself.
You can only be authentic about your inauthenticity. If you observe me, I am publicly authentic: I tell on myself.
Mercilessly. Without explaining, without justifying.
And that gives me a chance to be somewhat real… somewhat.
Homo Sapiens is profoundly inauthentic.
I love the book by Ian Lesley: Born Liars… yes, homo sapiens is a liar… and that is the opposite of authenticity.
My definition for authenticity is ‘nothing hidden in the unsaid’
HIDDEN is the operative word.
