Top Five Regrets of the Dying and how to beat them
- 1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
- 2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.
- 3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
- 4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
- 5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
These are the top five regrets of the dying, and here is how to beat having these regrets, or any other
I have read articles about dying and I have read poems written by old-old people expressing their regrets. They are in death’s anteroom, and the view of their life and themselves is special from there: they are to the side and slightly elevated position from where they can both feel and see.
But what about you, who are not ready to die? How are you going to access that same place so you can, while you are alive, while you have the choice, do things, change things, so when you are in that age, you won’t have that many regrets, and you will have looked back at reading this article as a line of demarcation, when you changed enough in your life to have a completely different rest of life for yourself.
That is the purpose of this article, to beat the top five regrets of the dying. To help you to put in the changes that the list of regrets disappears or gets totally different. OK? Let’s get started.
Beat top five regrets of the dying: Way 1:
Imagine that you are on your deathbed.
Now, if you can imagine that you are looking at your head from behind (my experience that everyone can do that) then you can imagine yourself lying on your deathbed.
It’s a beautiful day, and you have no pain, no worries, just time at your hand to ponder what you would have done differently if you had just known how it was going to turn out.
You can look in many places, but from the above list you can see that the leading regrets of the dying have something to do with living life fully, with courage and self expression…
Now, what would be your regrets if this were your last day on earth?
Write it down and start, little by little, implementing them in your current life.
Don’t wait until you can’t do anything about it.
Another way to beat the top five regrets of the dying will come in the next article.
